Kate Boynton - Beloit College
Sophomore - Scandinavia, Minn./Chicago Lakes
Boynton is undefeated on the young season. She went 4-0 at Singles and 4-0 in Doubles in the Buccaneers first four matches. She was 2-0 at both #5 and #6 Singles. She teamed with Julia Win to go 2-0 at #2 Doubles and with Maeve Stevenson to go 2-0 at #3 Doubles. |

Amy Unzicker - Monmouth College
Freshmen - Morton, Ill./Morton
Unzicker has already made an impact with the Fighting Scots. Competing at the Quincy University Invitational last weekend, which included Division II and NAIA scholarship schools, she combined with sophomore Kimi Wegner to win the No. 2 doubles completion. Playing at No. 2 singles, she finished second, falling in three sets. For the season, the talented freshman is a combined 10-2 in singles and doubles competition. Unzicker also plays soccer for Monmouth and was the MWC Offensive Soccer Performer of the Week last week. |

Beth Larson - Lawrence University
Freshmen - Maplewood, MN/Mounds Park Academy
Larson remained unbeaten in her collegiate career, as she went 3-0 on the week at both No. 1 singles and No. 1 doubles and is now 7-0 on the season. Larson capped her week with a 6-0, 6-0 win over Grinnell’s Jill Akiyama, and she teamed with Lisa Ritland to beat Akiyama and Tatyna Sukharnikova 8-3 at No. 1 doubles. Lawrence beat Grinnell 5-4, Grinnell’s first loss to a MWC opponent since 2003 and Lawrence’s first win over the Pioneers since 1995. Larson also won at No. 1 singles and doubles in Lawrence’s 5-4 win over UW-Stevens Point. Larson again won at No. 1 singles and doubles in Lawrence’s 5-4 loss to NCAA Division II opponent Lake Superior State University. |

Katie Colver - Grinnell College
Senior - Waukegan, Ill./Waukegan
Colver played a key role in helping the Grinnell women’s tennis team claim its sixth
consecutive M South Division title while extending its winning streak in divisional play to 26 matches. She posted four singles wins in the Pioneers’ weekend victories over Monmouth, Knox, Lake Forest and Illinois College. She won all four matches in two sets, outscoring her foes 48 games to 8. In doubles play, she teamed with Maya Lipert to win all three of the matches they played. They outscored their opponents 24-6. |

Emma Kent - Lawrence University
Senior - Bellingham, Wash./Sehome
Kent went 3-1 last week at both Singles and Doubles, playing #6 in Singles and #3 in Doubles (with Emily Dalton). Her biggest win came last Tuesday when she rallied to win a three-set match against St. Norbert, providing the deciding point to give the Vikings their first win over the Green Knights since 1998 while also keeping the team unbeaten in conference play. Kent also posted two Singles and two Doubles victories on Saturday in a 9-0 win over Beloit College and a 6-3 victory over Monmouth College. Her only blemish’s on the week came in Lawrence’s 6-3 loss to UW-Oshkosh. Kent is now 8-4 in singles and 11-5 in doubles this season. |

Samantha Bachmann - Carroll University
Junior - Sheboygan Falls,Wis./Sheboygan Falls
Bachmann has been named the Midwest Conference Women’s Tennis Player of the Week for the week ending October 5. Bachmann won both of her Singles matches last week to help the Pioneers defeat Milwaukee School of Engineering (7-2) and Beloit College (5-4). Bachmann defeated MSOE’s Joy Cirilli in straight sets (6-3, 6-0) at the #2 flight and then outlasted Beloit’s Julia Win in a three-set affair (6-1, 1-6, 6-3). Carroll improved to 9-4 overall with the wins. |

Beth Larson - Lawrence University - Freshmen
Maplewood, Minn./Mounds Park Academy
Larson put together impressive wins at No. 1 singles and No. 1 doubles to lead Lawrence’s 9-0 rout of Ripon in the Vikings’ final conference match of the season. Larson beat Josie Ullsperger 6-0, 6-1 in singles and teamed with Lisa Ritland to beat Ullsperger and Chelsey Foster 8-0 at No. 1 doubles. Larson is now 15-1 in singles and 12-4 in doubles. This is her second Player of the Week honor of the season. The shutout of Ripon moved the Vikings to 4-0 in Midwest Conference North Division play and gave Lawrence the top seed from the North at the Midwest Conference Tournament. |
