Week #1: September 8


Natalie Hahn
Carroll

Carroll Freshman Natalie Hahn (Mound, Minn./Westonka) has led the Carroll College women's tennis team to a 2-0 record early this season. The Lady Pioneers have recorded an 8-1 win over Wiscosnin Lutheran College and a 6-3 win over UW-Stevens Point. Natalie is 4-0 in her matches that include 2 #1 singles wins and 2 #1 doubles victories.

 


Week #2: September 15


Serene Sahar
Lawrence

Sahar, a sophomore from New Berlin, Wis (Eisenhower), won both of her matches against the University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point, which ended with a 4-4 tie when darkness stopped the final match. In the best two matches of the day, Sahar beat the Ponter's #1 Singles player 6-4, 7-6 (7-4) at No. 1 singles and then teamed with Adriana Teodoro-Dier to win 9-7 at No. 2 doubles.

 


Week #3: September 22

Karin Adams
St. Norbert

Adams, a senior from Mequon, Wis. (Homestead HS), went 2-0 this past week at No. 6 singles as St. Norbert defeated UW-Oshkosh 5-4 and Lawrence 9-0. Adams won her match against Oshkosh 6-2, 6-3 to give the Green Knights their first team victory over the WIAC school since 1996. She then won her match against Lawrence 6-0, 6-0 to finish off the conference sweep of the Vikings.

 


Week #4: September 29

Abbey Jennings
Lake Forest

Jennings, a senior from Logan, Ohio (Logan HS), helped Lake Forest to a trio of victories over MWC schools last week. The Foresters won at Beloit on Wednesday and Jennings triumphed in her match at #6 singles. On Saturday, the team knocked off Knox and Monmouth. Jennings won at #6 singles against Knox and at both #3 singles and #2 doubles against Monmouth. She was 4-0 on the week.


Week #5: October 7


Heather Gerard
Monmouth

Gerard, a first-year competitor from Grinnell, Iowa, (Grinnell HS) had a happy homecoming last weekend, posting her first singles victory of the season in a match against her hometown college. Gerard posted a 7-6 (7-2), 6-3 victory at No. 5 singles.


Week #6: October 13


Sally Fairfield
Beloit

Fairfield, a first-year from Brrokville, Ind., went 4-0 as the Buccaneers split a pair of weekend matches at Ripon and Lawrence. Playing No. 4 singles, she won in three sets at Ripon, rallying after she lost the first set of that match. At Lawrence, also at No. 4 singles, she won in straight sets. In doubles play, she won twice at No. 3. For the season, Fairfield is 12-2 in singles play this fall heading into the MWC tournament this weekend and 8-3 in doubles.
