2007 Performers of the Week
Week 1: September 11, 2007
Alli Berry - Lake Forest College
Senior - Plymouth, Minn./Robbinsdale Armstrong

Berry was nearly perfect in four Forester victories over MWC members last week, including a pair of fellow South Division foes. Lake Forest defeated Lawrence (6-3), Ripon (7-2), Knox (8-1), and Monmouth (5-4) to start the season and Berry went 4-0 without dropping a set at the top spot in the singles lineup. She was also 3-1 at No. 1 doubles, with the only loss coming against Monmouth.
 
Week 2: September 18, 2007
Hannah Perwin - Beloit College
Sophomore - Miami, Fla./Summit Prep

Perwin posted a perfect 4-0 record at No. 1 singles and teamed with Erika Zevin to go 3-1 at No. 1 doubles last week as the Bucs won three matches and started the year 1-0 in MWC action. Ripon (6-0, 6-1) and Monmouth’s (6-1, 6-0) top singles players were only able to take one game from the sophomore, while Perwin gave up three games in a win over Knox’s No.1 player (6-1, 6-2). She also rallied to defeat Concordia’s (WI) Erin Henrich (3-6, 6-4, 10-7) at home on Friday. Perwin is currently 6-1 in singles action this season and 5-2 with Zevin in doubles play.
 
Week 3: September 25, 2007
Samantha Bachmann - Carroll College
Sophomore - Sheboygan, Wis./Sheboygan Falls

Bachmann improved to 7-0 in singles play on the season last week, as she helped the Lady Pioneers post a 3-0 record as a team. The sophomore finished the week with an overall record of 5-1, as she won all of her matches at the No. 3 singles flight, while also teaming with Casey Anderson for a 2-1 mark at No. 2 doubles. The Lady Pioneers opened the week with a win over Lake Forest (6-3) and followed with conference victories against Lawrence (6-3) and Ripon (7-2).
 
Week 4: October 2, 2007
Camila Alarcon - Grinnell College
Senior - Guatemala City, Guatemala/American

Alarcon, a two-time MWC singles champion, helped lead Grinnell to a 9-0 victory over Lake Forest on Saturday, clinching the Pioneers fifth consecutive MWC South title. The senior picked up a 6-0, 7-5 victory over the Foresters’ top player at No. 1 singles and teamed with Margaret Block to score an 8-2 win at No. 3 doubles. Alarcon posted a perfect 3-0 record in singles action during 2007 conference matches and currently has a 6-3 record in the top flight.

 
Week 5: October 9, 2007

Samantha Bachmann - Carroll College
Sophomore - Sheboygan Falls, Wis./Sheboygan Falls

Bachmann ended the regular season with a perfect 13-0 record at No. 3 singles, while also combining with Casey Anderson for an 8-3 mark at No. 2 doubles. Bachmann was a perfect 5-0 in the final week of the regular season, winning all three of her singles matches and both of her doubles matches. The Lady Pioneers were 3-0 on the week, including a 5-4 win over Beloit that clinched Carroll’s first MWC Championship Team Tournament berth since 2004.
