2005 Performers of the Week
Week 1: September 13, 2005
Hanah McCarthy - Lawrence University
Freshman - Bozeman, Mont./Bozeman

McCarthy has yet to lose in her collegiate career, starting off the 2005 season with a 3-0 record at No. 1 singles. Those victories include wins over
the top players from MWC foes Knox and Monmouth, as well as a non-conference victory against Concordia. McCarthy won her singles matches against the latter two teams in straight sets. She also teamed with Tara Lahtinen to record doubles victories over the Fighting Scots and Prairie Fire’s top duos. The Vikings are 3-0 in dual meets this season.

Week 2: September 20, 2005
Alli Berry - Lake Forest College - Sophomore - Plymouth, Minn./Robbinsdale
Berry helped lead Lake Forest to a 3-0 team record last week, as the sophomore posted a perfect record playing at No. 1 singles and No. 1 doubles. Berry set the tone in a pair of 9-0 victories over Wisconsin Lutheran College and Ripon, before leading the Foresters to a 6-3 win over MWC foe onmouth. Berry teamed with Brittany Richardson to down the top doubles duos from each school.
Week 3: September 27, 2005
Cassandra Frantz - Monmouth College - Freshman - Macomb, Ill./Macomb
Frantz went undefeated at No. 3 singles in three MWC matches last week. The freshman defeated opponents from Knox, St. Norbert and Beloit in
straight sets, surrendering just eight games overall. Frantz also teamed with Shauna Skowronski to record an 8-1 doubles victory over the Prairie Fire’s top doubles duo.
Week 4: October 4, 2005
Lisa Ritland - Lawrence University - Freshman - Lodi, Wis./Lodi
Ritland posted a 3-0 record in both singles and doubles action last week. Playing at No.4 singles, she downed UW-Oshkosh’s Jenna Abbott (6-3,
1-6, 11-9) and Lake Forest’s Anastasia Rudkovskaya (6-4. 6-2). Ritland then moved up to No. 2 singles against MSOE and responded with a 6-4, 7-5 victory. The freshman also teamed with Loni Philbrick-Linzmeyer to win No. 1 doubles matches against all three schools. Ritland is 10-2 in singles and doubles play this season.
Week 5: October 11, 2005
Mary O’Brien - St. Norbert College - Freshman - Wayne, Ill./Aurora Rosary
O’Brien remained undefeated in singles and doubles play this year while leading the Green Knights to a Midwest Conference victory last week. St. Norbert opened the weekend with a 7-2 win over Lawrence, which sealed the MWC’s North Division title for the Green Knights. Playing at No. 1 singles, O’Brien won 6-4, 6-0 to move to 10-0 in singles play this fall. She then teamed with Lauren Weis for an 8-3 victory over the Vikings top doubles duo. O’Brien and Weis are 10-0 in doubles action this season. St. Norbert finished 4-0 in MWC play and is the top seed from North Division entering this weekend’s MWC Team Tennis Championship.
