Amy Unzicker - Forward - Monmouth College
Freshmen - Morton, Ill./Morton
Unzicker got her collegiate career off to a great start with a pair of goals against Elmhurst College on Friday in Monmouth's season opener. Her goals, which were sandwiched around halftime, allowed the Fighting Scots to rally from a 2-0 deficit and tie the game in the 54th minute. Monmouth eventually fell 3-2.

Week #2: September 8, 2008 |

Bianca Greene - Midfield - Lake Forest College
Sophomore - Santa Monica, Calif./Santa Monica
Greene helped lead Lake Forest to a 2-1 week and a victory in the season’s first Midwest Conference game. Greene recorded an assist in the Foresters’ 3-1 loss to visiting Milwaukee School of Engineering on Wednesday and another helper in a 2-0 triumph over visiting Benedictine University on Friday. She then recorded her first career hat trick and added another assist in the team’s 6-0 win at Knox on Saturday to finish the week with nine points on three goals and three assists. |

Liana Foreman - Defender - Carroll University
Sophomore - Libertyville, Ill./Libertyville
Foreman played a major role in helping Carroll University shut out UW-La Crosse in a 1-0 victory for the Lady Pioneers. The central defender helped the defensive unit limit UW-L to two second half shots after the Eagles registered 14 shots in the first half. The win improves Carroll to 2-1-0 on the season. |

Jessica Schadrie – Forward – St. Norbert College
Junior – De Pere, Wis./West De Pere
Schadrie scored three goals last week to lead St. Norbert to a pair of wins. Schadrie scored twice on Thursday in a 6-1 victory over Lakeland College, and then added a marker in a 2-1 triumph over defending conference champion Carroll University. Schadrie’s goal against Carroll tied the match at one and helped the Green Knights to their first win over the Lady Pioneers since 2001. Schadrie leads St. Norbert with seven goals on the season. |

Ellie Deal – Defender – Grinnell College
Sophomore – Seattle, Wash./Roosevelt
Deal’s stellar defense played a major role in the Pioneers’ 3-0 record over the past week. In those contests, the Pioneers outscored their opponents 18-1 and allowed just five shots, including a no-shot performance against Buena Vista University. Deal finished the weekend with two shots on goal. |

Hillary King – Forward – Illinois College
Freshman – Decatur, Ill./Lutheran
King scored both of her team’s goals on Thursday in a 6-2 loss at Greenville College. King put the Lady Blues on the scoreboard in the 62nd minute and pulled them to within a goal with another tally five minutes later. She registered five of the visitors’ seven shots in the contest. |

Laura McElroy – Goalkeeper – Grinnell College
Sophomore – Springfield, Mo./Glendale
McElroy helped guide the Pioneers to a 1-0 shutout victory on Friday at Simpson College, the defending Iowa Intercollegiate Athletic Conference champion. She recorded four saves in the game and improved her record on the season to 5-1. |

Miki Nakamura – Forward – Grinnell College
Junior – Honolulu, Hawaii/Kamehameha
Nakamura played a big part in Grinnell College opening Midwest Conference play in dominating fashion by scoring five goals in a pair of victories over the weekend. She had three goals and an assist in a 10-0 win at Illinois College on Saturday and added two goals and an assist in a 4-1 win at Monmouth College on Sunday. For the season she has 14 goals and four assists as the Pioneers improved to 8-1 overall. |

Dani Myszewski – Defense – Carroll College
Senior - Wales, Wis./Kettle Moraine
Myszewski had success at both ends of the field as the Carroll University women’s soccer team defeated Midwest Conference foe Ripon College 4-0. From her center back position, Myszewski limited the Red Hawks to three shots on the afternoon while also tallying the second goal of the game from a corner kick. |

Miki Nakamura – Forward – Grinnell College
Junior – Honolulu, Hawaii/Kamehameha
Nakamura scored three goals over the weekend to boost her season total to 17. She had two goals and two assists in a 5-0 win over Beloit College and the only goal in a 1-0 win over the University of Dubuque. It is her second straight MWC Offensive Performer of the Week selection. |

Leah Wiercinski - Defense - Carroll College
Freshman -De Pere, Wis./De Pere
Wiercinski led a Carroll University defensive unit that held two MWC opponents scoreless last week. The Pioneers blanked Lake Forest College and Lawrence University, 2-0, to improve to 3-1 in league play. Wiercinski’s efforts helped limit Lake Forest to three shots on goal while Lawrence was held to just two shots on goal. |

Sydney Stoker - Forward - Grinnell College
Senior - Salt Lake City, Utah/East
Stoker had a goal in a 4-2 victory over previous MWC unbeaten St. Norbert College on Saturday and came back with two goals and an assist in a 5-0 win over Lawrence University on Sunday. She now has six goals and a team-high eight assists on the season. |

Brittney Parker - Sweeper - Monmouth College
Sophomore - Waukegan, Ill./Warren
Parker starred in the back as the Fighting Scots went 2-0-1 on the week. Monmouth allowed just two goals in the three games, both in a 2-2 tie against Carroll, the defending MWC champions. Parker also started the scoring in that game with a goal off a corner kick and added an assist the next day as Monmouth defeated Ripon 5-0. |

Cody Callender - Midfielder - Carroll University
Sophomore - Hawthorn Woods, Ill./Lake Zurich
Callender put on an offensive display over the weekend, leading the Carroll University women’s soccer team to a 9-0 win over Knox College and a 3-1 triumph over Grinnell College. The midfielder scored seven goals over the weekend, including a pair of game winners. She had four scores against Knox and three versus Grinnell, giving her 14 goals on the season to go along with four assists for 32 points. |

Lindsey Ahlen - Goalkeeper - Lawrence University
Junior - Lawrence, Kan./Bishop Seabury
Ahlen turned in her best performance of the season in a 1-0 overtime shutout of Monmouth College on Saturday and followed that up with 80-plus minutes of scoreless time in net in a 4-0 win over Illinois College the following day. Ahlen made 13 saves in 96:08 before the Vikings scored the game’s only goal against Monmouth and she now has four shutouts on the season. |

Stephanie Gatyas - Forward - St. Norbert College
Junior - Plymouth, Wis./Plymouth
Gatyas scored her third, fourth, and fifth goals of the season as St. Norbert clinched the 2008 MWC championship with a 5-2 victory over visiting Lawrence University on Saturday. Gatyas’ first goal of the game tied the score at one in the 11th minute. After the first half ended with the score tied 2-2, she netted a pair of goals within the first 10 minutes of the second period to lead the Green Knights to victory. |

Whitney Ott - Defense - Monmouth College
Junior - Moline, Ill./Alleman
Ott was part of a back four that held Knox without a shot in a 6-0 victory. The rare shotless game was just the third one in the conference this season. Three days later, Ott and Co. had little to do in the first half while Monmouth enjoyed a 36-mile per hour wind at its back at Cornell. However, Ott helped the Scots pass a major test in the second half, as she won ball after ball to keep the Rams’ attack relatively quiet and allow the Scots to have enough possessions to score twice into the wind and post a 2-1 win. |

Molly Dickson - Forward - Beloit College
Freshman - Egg Harbor, Wis./Gibraltar
Dickson scored in each of two games over the weekend as the Bucs ended their season with a pair of home victories, defeating Monmouth College 2-0 and Illinois College 3-0. Dickson had the first goal against Monmouth and the final goal against Illinois College to finish her first collegiate season as the team’s leading scorer with 19 points. |

Emily Weber - Defense - Lake Forest College
Sophomore - Cincinnati, Ohio/Seven Hills
Weber helped lead Lake Forest to a pair of league victories as the Foresters clinched the #3 seed in the upcoming MWC Tournament. She and the rest of the defense began the weekend by limiting visiting Illinois College to six shots in Saturday’s 1-0 triumph. On Sunday the Foresters defeated Monmouth College 3-2. Weber scored to tie the game at one midway through the first period and then made the score 3-1 with her second goal of the contest at 67:23. |
