Perry kick-started the Bucs season with a record-setting hat-trick during a 6-1 victory over North Central. Perry’s flurry of goals took exactly 25 seconds, as she netted her first goal at 32:35, the second at 32:56 and the third four seconds later at the 33-minute mark. Perry’s scoring exhibition set NCAA Division III records for “fastest goals scored by same team,” “fastest goals scored by same player,” “fastest three goals scored by same team” and “fastest three goals scored by same player.” |

Liz Carrier - Goalkeeper - Grinnell College
Senior - Pittsburgh, Pa./Sewickley
Carrier opened the 2006 season with a three-save shutout victory over Carleton, as the Pioneers prevailed 1-0 at home. Carrier recorded 11 shutouts a year ago and owns the conference-record for shutouts in a season with 12 in 2004. The senior goalkeeper now owns 25 career shutouts, which is tops in the league for a career.

Amanda Neira - Forward - Monmouth College
Freshman - Burlington, Iowa
Neira made her first collegiate soccer match memorable when she netted the game-winning goal in Monmouth’s 4-3 victory over Dubuque on Thursday. The sophomore forward had just returned to the game when she broke a 3-3 tie with just over four minutes remaining. Neira, who missed the Scots first contest of the season due to a knee injury, was also credited with the game-winner in Monmouth’s other action during the week, a 5-1 MWC victory over Illinois College.

Kristyne Operzedek - Goalkeeper - Lake Forest
Senior - Deerfield, Ill.
Operzedek shut out each of her first two opponents of the season, leading the Foresters to a 2-0 record. The senior goalie started the year with a nine-save performance in the Foresters 1-0 victory over Concordia (WI) on Tuesday. She made two more saves on Saturday, as Lake Forest blanked Ripon 4-0 to open league play. Operzedek now has 14 career shutouts and continues to climb the Top 10 rankings in the conference records books in that category.

Beasley tallied three goals last week, helping guide the Bucs to a 2-0 start in Midwest Conference action.
Beasley tallied the Bucs first goal in a 2-1 come-from-behind victory over Lawrence, tying the game at 1-1 in the second half. The junior midfielder/forward added two more netters in the Bucs 4-0 win over Ripon later in the week. |

Buechler continues to anchor the Bucs defense, which has allowed one goal in the last three games, including a pair of MWC victories last week. The sophomore defender started her week by assisting Emily Foubert’s game-winning goal in the waning seconds of a 2-1 victory over Lawrence. She then helped limit Ripon to four shots on goal in Beloit’s 4-0 victory over the Red Hawks two days later.

Kate Diedrick - Forward - Grinnell College
Senior - Albion, Mich./Albion
Diedrick scored a pair of goals and also notched an assist last week to lead the Pioneers to a 3-0 start in MWC play. Diedrick started her week by tallying an insurance goal and an assist in Tuesday’s 4-0 win over Knox. The senior forward closed her week by netting the game-winning goal in the 24th minute of the Pioneers 4-0 win over Beloit on Sunday. Diedrick also recorded one shot on goal against 2005 MWC tourney qualifier Monmouth, who Grinnell edged 1-0 on Saturday. |

Senior - Pittsburgh, Pa./Sewickley Academy
Carrier shutout the Pioneers first three conference opponents of the season and has not allowed a goal in her last 350+ minutes between the pipes. The senior goalkeeper also made an impact on the offensive end, leaving the box to score the game-winning goal on a penalty kick in Grinnell’s 1-0 triumph over Monmouth. Carrier has allowed two goals in eight games this season.

Freshman - Honolulu, Hawaii
Nakamura took five shots on goal, netting the game-winning goal, and recorded a pair of assists in the Pioneers 3-0 MWC victory over Illinois College on Saturday. The win over the Lady Blues lifted the Pioneers to 4-0 in conference play this year. Nakamura is currently tied for the league lead in assists (4) and has pair of goals this season.

Kristin Mertel - Defender - Monmouth College
Senior - Hoffman Estates, Ill./Hoffman Estates
Mertel had another big week for the Fighting Scots, scoring two goals and adding two assists as the Fighting Scots posted victories over Knox (8-0) and MSOE (4-1). Mertel now has a league-high 16 points this season despite switching positions to play defense. Monmouth allowed just one goal on six shots in the two victories.

Freshman - De Pere, Wis./West De Pere
Schadrie had a big week as St. Norbert went 3-0 in MWC action. The freshman forward finished the week with six goals and one assist for 13 points. She netted two goals and one assist for five points in a 4-0 win over Ripon, one goal in a 6-3 win over Illinois College and tallied a hat trick in a 5-2 win over Monmouth.

Mackenzie’s aggressive style of play helped the Pioneers pitch a pair of shutouts against MWC foes last week, while improving to 6-0 in league play on the year. MacKenzie’s unit held Ripon without a single shot during a 10-0 victory on Saturday. The Pioneers also shutout Carroll, the team picked to challenge Grinnell in the preseason coaches poll, 2-0 on Sunday. The sophomore defender helps anchor a defense that ranks second in NCAA Division III in shutouts with 10.

Junior - Mukwonago, Wis./Mukwonago
Konkol netted a goal and an assist in each of Carroll’s conference victories last week. The Lady Pioneers started their week by handing St. Norbert its first MWC loss of the season with a 6-0 decision and followed that performance with a 3-0 triumph over Ripon. The junior midfielder tallied the third goal against the Green Knights and netted the second score against the Red Hawks.

Morris netted a pair of goals from her defender position in the Lady Blues first conference victory of the season, as Illinois College shutout Knox 5-0 on Wednesday. With Morris leading the defense, Illinois College has only allowed one goal in its five victories this season. The Lady Blues will triple their win total from a year ago with their next victory. |

Davidson’s speedy recovery proved to be vital in keeping the Scots MWC tournament berth hopes alive. One day after exiting the Scots contest against Lake Forest and heading to the hospital for treatment on her ankle, Davidson helped Monmouth mount the biggest comeback in school history. Trailing Beloit 2-0, the freshman forward entered with 10 minutes remaining in the game, helping the Scots score three goals in a 2:16 span. Davidson, who also netted a goal earlier in the week in a non-conference win over Clarke, provided the assist on the equalizing goal and then netted the game-winner 53 seconds later.

Monica Thomas - Sweeper - Lake Forest College
Freshman - Los Gatos, Calif./Los Gatos
Thomas, who had been moved from midfielder to sweeper a week earlier, helped Lake Forest blank a pair of league opponents over the weekend. Thomas and company downed Monmouth 1-0 on Saturday and Illinois College 3-0 on Sunday to put the Foresters in a good position to qualify for the MWC Tournament. The Fighting Scots and Lady Blues combined to take just 13 shots and Lake Forest goalkeepers needed to make just seven saves on the weekend. |

Hillary Reichardt - Forward - Carroll College
Junior - Madison, Wis./La Follette
Reichardt scored four goals in a trio of victories, as the Lady Pioneers clinched the No. 2 seed in this weekend’s MWC Tournament. The junior forward tallied two goals and an assist in a 6-1 win over tourney qualifier Lake Forest and then registered two of the Lady Pioneers three goals in a 3-1 win over Monmouth. The Lady Pioneers closed the regular-season with a 2-0 win over Illinois College.

Mackenzie was a key part in helping the Pioneers pick up a pair of shutout victories over the weekend. The sophomore defender scored one goal in each match and helped limit opponents to a combined 12 total shots on the defensive end. Grinnell wrapped up the regular-season with shutout wins over St. Norbert (4-0) and Lawrence (6-0), clinching its second consecutive MWC Championship and the top seed in this weekend’s MWC Tournament. |
