Coaches Pick Grinnell To Repeat As League Champs
If the results from the 2006 Midwest Conference Women’s Soccer Preseason Coaches Poll hold true, than the 2006 MWC Champion and 2006 MWC Tournament field will both be repeats from a year ago. That may not be a good sign for Heather Benning's (right) Grinnell squad, the 2005 MWC champs who received eight of the 10 possible first-place votes to take the top spot in the poll. No women’s soccer program in the conference has been able to repeat as conference champions since St. Norbert accomplished the feat with back-to-back league titles in 1994 and 1995.
