Leah Heister, Knox
Knox’s Heister, Bristol, Conn. (Bristol Eastern), made her NCAA debut “remarkable” after the first-year student from tallied four goals in her team’s 9-0 victory over Lincoln Christian College. Heister recorded 18 shots, including 10 on goal, as the Prairie Fire out-shot their foes, 54-0. The Knox newcomer put her team on the board with the game’s first goal midway through the first half. |

Mei-Yun Gibson, Lake Forest
Gibson, a senior sweeper from Aurora, Col. (Eaglecrest HS), helped Lake Forest claim an important 1-0 league victory at St. Norbert on Saturday. In the Foresters’ first game of the season, Gibson anchored the defense in a shutout effort against a team that scored seven goals in its opener earlier in the week. |

| Week #2: September 13 |

Rachel Moskowitz, Grinnell
Moskowitz, a junior from Wooster, Ohio, scored five goals and tallyed three assists in the Pioneers’ two victories. The junior forward registered four goals and assisted on two other scores in Grinnell’s victory over Bethel last Saturday. Earlier in the week, Moskowitz had a goal and an assist in the Pioneers’ win against Cornell. |

Liz Carrier, Grinnell
Carrier, a sophomore goalkeeper from Pittsburgh, Penn., helped Grinnell win two of three non-conference games last week. The Pioneers defeated Cornell and Bethel before falling at Augsburg. Carrier recorded a pair of saves in each of the shutouts, her second and third of the young season, and four in the loss. |

| Week #3: September 20 |

Julia Bell, Carroll
Bell, a junior from Hartford, Wis. (Union H.S.), recorded her second hat-trick of the season when she tallied three goals in the Pioneers’ win at Ripon. The junior forward also had an assist in the match. Bell ranks among the league’s offensive leaders with a total of 24 points. Her totals include eight goals and eight assists. |

Kari Scheelk, Carroll
Scheelk, a freshman from Sobieski, Wis. (Polaski HS), helped Carroll maintain a perfect record and record its third shutout of the season last week. The Lady Pioneers defeated Ripon and held the Red Hawks to just three shots in the conference-opening victory. Scheelk also played a prominent role in Carroll’s offensive attack, recording two assists in the game. |

| Week #4: September 27 |

Amy Horneck, Monmouth
A seven-point performance in the Scots’ win over Illinois C. helped Horneck, a junior from Hermiston, Ore., tie the Monmouth record for single-game assists with three in the contest; on each of the Scots’ first three goals. Horneck scored a pair of goals in the second half and her seven-point outburst lifted her career point total to 85, breaking the school record of 79. |

Mei-Yun Gibson, Lake Forest
Gibson, a senior from Aurora, Col. (Eaglecrest HS), led Lake Forest’s defensive efforts in three victories last week. The Foresters won at Dominican on Wednesday, in double-overtime at Grinnell on Saturday, and at home against Beloit on Sunday. Dominican and Beloit each recorded just six shots against Lake Forest and defending MWC Champion Grinnell had been averaging more than four goals per game. |

| Week #5: October 4 |

Kara Moskowitz, Grinnell
Moskowitz, a junior midfielder from Wooster, Ohio, scored the game-winner off a corner kick by teammate Kelsey Alford-Jones against St. Norbert.That same combination clicked later in the game, with Moskowitz scoring her second goal. Moskowitz, who is also regularly called on to mark the opponents’ top players, limited the center midfielders from Lawrence and St. Norbert to a total of one shot this weekend. |

Emily Scholten, Grinnell
Scholten, a junior from Johnston, Iowa, helped lead Grinnell’s defensive efforts in a pair of MWC shutouts over the weekend. The Pioneers defeated St. Norbert on Saturday and Lawrence in overtime on Sunday. Scholten, who suffered a torn ACL almost exactly one year ago, defended the leading scorer for each team. |

| Week #6: October 11 |

Melissa Stevenson, Lake Forest
Stevenson, a junior from Littleton, Col. (Dakota Ridge HS), had a pair of goals along with an assist in the Foresters’ victory over Concordia (IL) and then kept Lake Forest perfect in league play with a pair of scores in the win over Carroll. Stevenson tied the contest with the Pioneers with just over 20 minutes remaining then notched the game-winner with 1:07 left. She leads the Foresters with 10 goals and 27 points. |

Dana Price, Grinnell
Price, a senior defender from Austin, Texas, helped lead Grinnell to a pair of Midwest Conference victories over the weekend. Price helped limit Illinois C. to a single shot in a victory on Saturday and she marked Monmouth’s leading scorer in a triumph on Sunday. |

| Week #7: October 18 |

Jamie Lawrence, Carroll
Lawrence, a junior forward from Gillette, Wyo. (Campbell County), helped Carroll win 2-of-3 matches last week, including a conference win over St. Norbert. Lawrence scored the third goal of the game against the Green Knights, effectively putting the game away in the 60th minute. Trailing 3-2 in the second half against Concordia (WI) Univ., she netted the game-tying goal and sparked a late Carroll surge for a victory. In a loss to UW-Oshkosh on Sunday, she led Carroll with two shots on goal. |

Sarah McLaughlin, Carroll
McLaughlin, a freshman goalkeeper from Cary, Ill. (Cary-Grove Community), helped Carroll win two of three games last week, including a shutout against Midwest Conference foe St. Norbert. She recorded five saves against the Green Knights for her fourth conference shutout of the season. McLaughlin was also in goal as Carroll defeated Concordia University (WI) and fell to UW-Oshkosh during the week. |

Marni McKenna, St. Norbert
McKenna, a midfielder from Green Bay, Wis. (Notre Dame), almost single-handedly put the Knights into the MWC Tournament with a four-goal effort Sunday over tourney hopeful Monmouth. St. Norbert needed the win in order to make the tourney field. McKenna scored three of her four goals in the second half of the Green Knight’s win. |

Kari Scheelk, Carroll
Scheelk, a freshman defender from Sobieski, Wis. (Pulaski), helped lead Carroll team to a pair of victories over the weekend, including a win over Grinnell on Sunday that secured a second-place league finish for the Lady Pioneers. She led a defensive unit that held Grinnell to just 10 shots and Knox College to seven shots the day before in a win. She also had a stellar offensive performance from her defensive position with two goals against Knox and the game-winner against Grinnell. |
