The Midwest Conference (MWC) is proud to be host
to the 2003 and 2004 NCAA Division III Women's Golf Championships.
With the help of member institutions, The Golf Courses of Lawsonia,
Green Lake Country Visitors Bureau, members of the Local Organizing
Committee and local community members we fully anticipate that this
will be one of the finest championships held for women's golf at
the Division III level.
The
MWC
has
been
sponsoring
a
women's
golf
league
championship
for
the
past
seven
years
and
has
seen
steady
growth
in
the
number
of
competitors
each
season
from
the
seven
sponsoring
institutions.
Knox
College,
in
Galesburg,
Ill.,
represented
the
best
of
the
MWC
in
1999
when
they
qualified
for
the
National
Championship
and
placed
ninth
overall.
The
modern-era
Midwest
Conference
was
created
in
the
spring
of
1994
with
the
merger
of
the
Midwest
Collegiate
Athletic
Conference,
which
had
been
sponsoring
men's
sports
since
1921,
and
the
Midwest
Athletic
Conference
for
Women,
which
was
formed
to
conduct
women's
championship
competition
in
1977.
The
MWC
provides
championship
competition
for
ten
men's
and
ten
women's
sports
for
ten
liberal
arts
institutions
located
in
Illinois,
Iowa
and
Wisconsin.
Member
schools
are
Beloit
College,
Carroll
College,
Grinnell
College,
Illinois
College,
Knox
College,
Lake
Forest
College,
Lawrence
University,
Monmouth
College,
Ripon
College
and
St.
Norbert
College.
