Week 1: September4, 2007

Christine Brown - Outside Hitter - Beloit College
Junior - Ruidoso, N.M./Ruidoso

Brown earned All-Tournament Team honors at the Ripon Early Bird Invite over the weekend, as she led the Buccaneers to a 3-1 record and a second-place finish. The junior outside hitter tallied 58 kills in 15 games, while also adding 39 digs, 10 services aces and six blocks. Brown, who tallied a 3.87 kills per game average along with a .290 hitting percentage, recorded 27 kills and nine digs in a five-game victory over MSOE.

 
Week 2: September 11, 2007

Kendra James - Middle Hitter - Monmouth College
Senior - Fulton, Ill./Fulton

James earned all-tournament honors at UW-Platteville, where Monmouth posted a 3-1 record over the weekend. The senior middle hitter topped the Fighting Scots in kills in all four matches, including 15 in a victory over UW-River Falls. For the tourney, she totaled 42 kills with a hitting percentage of .287. James also had totals of 20 blocks, four aces and 20 digs. Earlier in the week, James recorded eight kills with a .438
hitting percentage in a three-game win over Cornell.

 
Week 3: September 18, 2007

Sam Jungbluth - Outside Hitter - St. Norbert College
Sophomore - Muskego, Wis./Greendale

Jungbluth led St. Norbert to a 3-1 week at the Ripon Tournament, as the Green Knights improved to 12-2 on the season. In 16 games, the sophomore outside hitter registered a .327 hitting percentage with 45 kills (2.81 kpg), 11 digs, six assists and one block. Jungbluth reached double-digit kills in three of the four matches, including a team-high 14 kills in a five-game triumph over UW-River Falls.

 
Week 4: September 25, 2007

Joanna Mamayek - Middle Hitter - St. Norbert College
Junior - Colgate, Wis./Milwaukee Divine Savior Holy Angels

Mamayek led St. Norbert to a 4-0 week, which included a 2-0 start in conference play and a five-game road triumph over UW-Stevens Point. In 14 games played, the junior middle hitter hit a robust .375, while also tallying 40 kills (2.86 kpg), 12 digs, 11 blocks and a pair of service aces. Mamayek, who tallied 10 kills apiece in each of the four matches, currently ranks third in the league in hitting percentage (.336).

 
Week 5: October 2, 2007

Nikole Bohn - Setter - Carroll College
Sophomore - Kenosha, Wis./Tremper

Bohn recorded 105 assists to help the Lady Pioneers post a perfect 3-0 record last week against conference foes. Carroll swept through the three matches in nine total games, opening the week with a win over 2006 MWC tourney qualifier Lake Forest, before downing Knox and Grinnell. The sophomore setter dished out 29, 39 and 37 assists against the Foresters, Prairie Fire and Pioneers, respectively. Bohn, who leads the league in assists (576) and assists per game (10.11), also added 28 digs in the three matches.

 
Week 6: October 9, 2007

Anna Alvin - Middle Hitter - Ripon College
Freshman - Beaver Dam, Wis./Beaver Dam

Alvin’s play has been one of the biggest reasons the Red Hawks are off to a 5-1 start in conference play, including league wins over Lake Forest (3-2) and Lawrence (3-1) in their only action last week. The 5-10 freshman middle hitter recorded 14 kills apiece against the Foresters and Vikings, while also adding 10 blocks, eight digs, three assists and a pair of service aces in the two matches. During Ripon’s current five-match wining streak, Alvin is averaging over nine kills per match and leads the team with 124 on the season.

 
Week 7: October 16, 2007

Katie McCool - Middle Hitter - Beloit College
Senior - Warren, Ill./Warren

McCool led Beloit to a 3-1 record last week, which included a trio of conference victories that returned the Buccaneers to the MWC tournament picture. The 6-3 senior middle hitter recorded 36 kills, 19 blocks, five digs and a pair of service aces in the four matches. McCool tallied 30 kills and 16 blocks in league wins over Grinnell, Knox and Lake Forest. She also became Beloit’s career kills leader and surpassed 500 career blocks in a loss at Carroll on Wednesday.

 
Week 8: October 23, 2007

Kate Meehan - Middle Hitter - St. Norbert College
Senior - Rockbridge, Ill./Greenfield

In two matches and seven games last week, Meehan recorded a .408 hitting percentage to go along with 23 kills (3.29 kpg) as the Green Knights split a pair of conference matches. The senior middle hitter also added eight digs, five blocks and one assist in the two contests. Meehan recorded eight kills during a three-game win over Lake Forest and a match-high 15 kills in a four-game loss to Carroll.

 
Week 9: October 30, 2007

Nicole Baich - Middle Hitter - Lake Forest College
Senior - Westchester, Ill./Nazareth Academy

Baich set a school record and helped lead Lake Forest to a pair of victories in three league matches as the Foresters clinched a spot in the MWC Tournament last week. The 6-0 senior middle hitter had 13 kills in a four-game win against Knox on Wednesday, 17 in a three-game victory at Illinois College on Friday, and 16 in a four-game loss at Monmouth on Saturday.
Baich now has a school record 1,376 kills in her career, two more than the previous mark. The program’s career leader in blocks also added seven blocks, 13 digs, and three aces on the week.
