Lake Forest defeats Carroll
to win MWC Championship Tourney
Foresters win one, lose one
match in
NCAA Division III Tournament
Lake Forest defeated Carroll,
3-0, in the Championship Match of the 1999 Midwest Conference Championship
Volleyball Tournament.
Illiois College topped Grinnell,
3-0, for third place and St. Norbert defeated Ripon, 3-1,
for fifth place.
Lake Forest's three-game win gave the Foresters
their second MWC volleyball championship. It also earned them the loop's
first automatic bid to the NCAA Division III Tournament.
At the NCAA Tournament, the Foresters defeated
19th-ranked Calvin, 3-1, before falling to 9th-ranked Mt. St. Joseph, 3-2,
in the regional semifinals.
