Week #1: November 15


Michael Ojdana, Lake Forest

Ojdana, a freshman from Cinncinnati, Ohio (St. Xavier HS), won four races in his first three collegiate meets at Lake Forest. He touched the wall first in the 200-meter freestyle (2:04.47) in the season-opening double dual against Lawrence and Monmouth on November 5. He also placed first in the 1000-yard freestyle (10.35.02) at Carthage the next day. This past Wednesday, he won both the 200-yard freestyle (1:51.46) and 500-yard freestyle (5:05.82) at UW-Whitewater. He also had both a second and third-place finish in each of the first two meets.


Kendal Swett, Lake Forest

Swett, a freshman diver from Akron, Ohio (Hawken HS), is off to a great start to her career after winning each of her first four competitions. Swett easily prevailed in both the 1-meter (241.95) and 3-meter (253.85) competitions in Lake Forest’s season-opening double dual meet against Lawrence and Monmouth on November 5. She followed that up with a national meet-qualifying score of 272.75 off the 3-meter board at UW-Whitewater five days later. She also won the 1-meter competition at Whitewater with a score of 225.30.
Week #2: November 22


Brett McMillian, Grinnell

McMillian, a senior from Austin, Tex., remains undefeated in the 100 and 200 backstroke. Against U. of Chicago he swam to a 56.56 in the 100 and a 2:03.76 in the 200 back. McMillian helped the men finish second in the 200 Free Relay leading off with a 22.96. Even with his victories, Grinnell was defeated by Chiacgo 183-106.


Amanda Keledjian, Grinnell

Keledjian, a first year from Van Nuys, Cal., has gone undefeated in dual competition. Against the Univ. of Chicago, she won the 200 fly (2:12.82), 100 fly (1:01.43), and 200 IM (2:18.85) and was a member of the winning 200 Medley Relay (1:58.13). Her victories help Grinnell defeat Chicago 183-115. The women’s 200 MR that Amanda was a member of, set a pool record amd Amanda’s time in the 200 fly was also a new pool record.

Erik Hoffer, Monmouth

Hoffer, a freshman from Palos Hills, Ill. (Amos Alonzo Stagg HS), finished second in the 500 Freestyle (4:54.18), and second in the 1650 (17:19.07) where his 1000 split for that race was also a school record of 10:33.44 at DePauw last weekend. He also finished seventh in the 400 IM (4:36.62 Finals) and was part of two school record relay teams, finishing eighth in the 800 Free Relay (8:10.12), and seventh in the 200 Medley Relay (1:47.27). He broke school records a total of seven times during the meet. This is the first year of Monmouth swimming.


Anna Antos, St. Norbert

Antos, a sophomore from Milton, Wis., won three events and placed third respectively in another event this past weekend at the Augustana College Invitational. Antos won the 200 IM (2:24.48), 400 IM (5:11.12) & 200 back (2:24.18) and took third in the 100 back (1:07.11). She was also a member of the winning 800 & 400 Free relays. Her winning efforts help the Green Knights take an overall 2nd place finish at the meet.

Week #5: January 10


Adam Kolb, Lawrence

Kolb, a junior from St. Paul, Minn. (Highland Park), won one individual event and swam on a winning relay at the University of Wisconsin-Oshkosh Triangular on Saturday. Kolb won the 500-yard freestyle in 5:38.82. He also was part of Lawrence’s winning 400-yard freestyle relay, which won in 3:55.16. Lawrence split the meets, beating Oshkosh 64-45 and falling to Carthage 47-43.

Sam Heinritz, Lawrence

Heinritz, a freshman from Appleton, Wis. (West), won both diving events at the University of Wisconsin-Oshkosh Triangular on Saturday. She took the 1-meter diving with a score of 232.55 points and won the 3-meter event with a score of 205.05. She helped the Vikings split the meets, as Lawrence beat Oshkosh 67-46 and lost to Carthage 66-45.

Week #6: January 17


Kevin Wood, Grinnell

Wood, a sophomore from Lawrence, Kan., won three events over the weekend and was a member of four winning relays as the Pioneers won their invitational by almost 200 points over second place team of Luther College. Wood recorded a 2:01.68 in the 200 IM, 53.32 in the 100 fly and a 22.36 in the 50 free. All three events were first place finishes. Wood finished second in the 200 fly with a 2:02.62.


Amanda Keledjian, Grinnell

Keledjian, a first-year swimmer from Van Nuys, Cal., was the only swimmer at the Grinnell Invite (men or women, any team) to win four individual events. She recorded a 1:00.10 in the 100fly, a 2:15.30 in the 200 IM, a 2:15.19 in the 200fly, and a 4:44.55 in the 400 IM. Grinnell women finished 2nd behind Carthage College 555 to 502.

Week #7: January 24


Chris Sarasin, Lawrence

Sarasin, a senior from Marquette, Mich. (Marquette), won three events and swam on a winning relay to lead Lawrence to 2nd place at the College of St. Catherine Invite on Saturday. He won the 200-yard individual medley in 2:06.75, took the 400 individual medley in 4:37.06 and captured the 1,650 freestyle in 18:08.10. Sarasin swam on the winning 400 freestyle relay team, which posted a time of 3:22.35. He also swam on the second-place 200 freestyle relay team.


Sarah Stayer, Grinnell

Stayer, a junior diver from Houston, Tex., won both the 1 and 3 meter diving events vs. Coe College. On the one meter she scored a NCAA qualifying standard of 264.80. She then came back to win the 3-meter with another qualifying standard, and new pool and school record of 293.80. Grinnell went on to defeat Coe 150-86.

Week #8: January 31


Chris Perry, Lawrence

Perry, a senior from Mission, Kan. (Shawnee Mission), won two events to lead the Lawrence men to second place at the Wisconsin Private College Championships this past Saturday. He won the 100-yard butterfly in 54.84 seconds and won the 200 freestyle in 1:50.30. Perry also placed third in the 100 freestyle and swam on Lawrence’s second-place 200 freestyle relay team. Perry was chosen for the all-state team that is picked by coaches at the meet.


Stacy Hlavach, St. Norbert

Hlavach, a freshman from Naperville, Ill. (Neuqua Valley), won the 200 Free, took 2nd in the 500 Free and achieved a 3rd place finish in the 100 Free this past Saturday at the Wisconsin Private College Championships held at Lawrence University. Hlavach’s times for her events were 2:01.57 in the 200 Free, 5:29.71 in the 500 Free and 57.68 in the 100 Free. She set new team records in the 200 & 500 Free events. Hlavach also participated on the Green Knight 2nd place 800 Free Relay which help the team achieve an overall 3rd place team finish.

Week #9: February 7


Michael Ojdana, Lake Forest

Ojdana, a freshman from Cinncinnati, Ohio (St. Xavier HS), won a pair of individual events and anchored a relay victory in Lake Forest’s double dual meet split against North Central College and Illinois Institute of Technology. Ojdana won the 200-meter freestyle with a time of 1:59.36, nearly 10 seconds faster than second place. He also touched the wall first in the 100-meter freestyle in 55.92 and his 200-meter freestyle relay team finished the meet with a victory.


Kendall Swett, Lake Forest

Swett, a freshman diver from Akron, Ohio (Hawken HS), recorded national qualifying marks off both the 1-meter and 3-meter boards in Lake Forest’s double dual sweep of Illinois Institute of Technology and North Central College on Saturday. Swett posted season-best scores of 264.25 in the 1-meter competition and 297.30 in the 3-meter. She has now registered national meet qualifying marks six times on the season (1-meter twice, 3-meter four times).
