Rajsky Named Swimming and Diving Coach at Knox
Knox has hired Heidi Rajsky to take over
as head coach of the Prairie Fire men's and women's swimming and diving
teams. Rajsky, a native of Pekin, Illinois and a 2000 graduate of Illinois
State University, was a four-time all-conference distance swimmer at Illinois
State. She also was named the Missouri Valley Conference "Swimming and
Diving Scholar Athlete" her senior year. Since graduation, Rajsky has
coached several club teams in the Peoria area while also working as a
substitute teacher.
Ripon College names Liz Tierney new
swim coach
RIPON, Wis.-- Elizabeth Tierney of La Crosse,
Wis., has been named head coach of swimming and diving at Ripon College.
She replaces Jon Wilson who, after six years as head coach at Ripon, left
in June to accept the head coaching position at Division II Northern Michigan
University in Marquette, Michigan.
A 2003 graduate of the University of Wisconsin-Oshkosh
(UW-O), Tierney holds a degree in psychology. She swam competitively in
each of her four years at Oshkosh. For the 2002-03 season Tierney was
both team captain and most valuable performer for the women's swim team.
While competing for Oshkosh, she was a Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic
Conference (WIAC) Finalist twelve times and nominated conference swimmer
of the week four times.
Tierney also served on UW-O's Student Athletic
Advisory Board at from 2001-03. She has a variety of experience in water
sports including time as a lifeguard, swim instructor and logrolling instructor
at the La Crosse Family YMCA. She also served as the head coach at the
Holmen Area Aquatic Center for three years.
