Grinnell sweeps 2002 men's and women's titles

Powered by MWC Female Swimmer of the Year Rachel Sellon, the Grinnell women's team won their fourth-consecutive MWC Championship at Lawrence this weekend. Sellon contributed 140 of Grinnell's points thanks to individual titles in the 200 Yard Butterfly, 200 Yard Individual Medley and 400 Yard Individual Medley and joining teammates to claim the 400 Yard Medley Relay and 200, 400 and 800 Freestyle Relays.

On the men's side, Grinnell was led by three relay champions in the 200 and 400 Yard Medley and the 200 Yard Freestyle. Individually the Pioneers' Brett McMillian won the 200 Yard Individual Medley and 100 and 200 Yard Butterfly while diver Eric Blevins swept both the 1 Meter and 3 Meter diving.

Lawrence's Daniel Hurley closed out his career with a repeat performance as MWC Male Swimmer of the Year with titles in the 500 Yard Freestyle, 400 Yard Individual Medley and 200 Yard Butterfly. The freestyle mark was a pool record and the 400 IM time was a NCAA B qualifier. For complete results click on the list of three days below.
