Kayla Birdsell - Libero - Illinois College
Junior - Chandlerville, Ill.
Birdsell picked up right where she left off last season, giving Illinois College a reliable fixture in the back row in the team’s first matches of the season. Birdsell made 146 digs in IC’s first six contests, leading the team in all six matches. She also added four ace serves.

Junior - Fairfield, Cal.
Eberhardy helped the Pioneers to a 3-1 record over the weekend at the UW-Oshkosh Invite. Eberhardy recorded 83 digs and 5 service aces over the 4 game stretch. She’s led the team in digs every match so far this season.

Catherine Guido - Defensive Specialist - St. Norbert College
Junior - Elmhurst, Ill.
Guido helped St. Norbert to a 4-0 record and the championship of the Wheaton Tournament with a solid performance in the back row. Guido, who was named to the all-tournament team, finished with 104 digs in the four matches - including 44 in a five-set win over Wheaton.

Birdsell continued her streak of leading the Lady Blues in digs in every match this season, tallying a total of 146 in four matches over the past week. Birdsell posted a season-high 48 digs against Lincoln Christian. She also had five aces against Principia. She has totaled 385 digs during the 2011 campaign.

Catherine Guido - Defensive Specialist - St. Norbert College
Junior - Elmhurst, Ill.
Guido paced St. Norbert defensively to a 3-1 week, which included its first win over UW-Oshkosh since 1993 and key MWC road wins at Illinois College and Monmouth. Guido finished with 87 digs in 13 sets, which is an average of 6.69 digs per game. Guido had 21 digs in a three-set win over UW-Oshkosh and 25 in a three-set win over Monmouth in a battle for first place in the MWC.

Michelle Eberhardy - Libero - Carroll University
Junior - Fairfield, Cal.
Michelle Eberhardy recorded 40 of her team’s 99 digs to lead the Carroll University volleyball past Beloit College, 3-1. The Pioneers knocked off the Bucs 25-18, 30-28, 23-25, 25-21. Eberhardy, a junior from Fairfield, Calif. (Fairfield High School), has 464 digs on the season.

Catherine Guido - Defensive Specialist - St. Norbert College

Guido had a stellar week defensively for St. Norbert, which went 3-2 last week. Guido had 181 digs for an average of 9.05 per set. Guido had 53 digs in a five-set loss to UW-Stevens Point, which is the eighth-best mark in NCAA Division III history. She also had 10 service aces.

Guido racked up 78 digs in three conference games last week for an average of 7.09 digs per set. In a 3-0 week, all conference wins, Guido had a 22 and 18 dig performance in sweeps over Ripon and Carroll before ending the season with a 38 dig performance in a five set win over Lake Forest. Guido was a key part of a Green Knights team that finished the season with a 24-7 overall record and a 9-0 mark in MWC play.
