Addison Ransom - Defender - Ripon College

Addison’s defensive leadership and tenacity is a big reason for Ripon’s 2-0 start to the season, as he limited both Edgewood and St. Mary’s (Minn.) to weak and unchallenging shots. Addison deflected one shot and broke up two breakaway attempts, while also scoring the game’s only goal on a header in a 1-0 win at St. Mary’s (Minn.). In a 3-2 victory at Edgewood earlier in the week, his play helped keep the score at two and give Ripon the opportunity for the victory.
September 13
Steven Solomon - Goalkeeper - Lawrence University
Freshman - Fort Collins, Colo.
Solomon posted his second shutout of the season and allowed only one goal as Lawrence went 2-0 on the week. In Lawrence’s 1-0 victory over MSOE, Solomon made five saves to record the shutout. In a 2-1 victory over Beloit to open Midwest Conference play, Solomon made nine saves. For the week, he posted a .933 save percentage and 0.50 goals against average.
September 20
Adam Haefner - Goalkeeper - Ripon College
Sophomore - Mequon, Wis.
In his only game last week, Haefner recorded his third complete game shutout in Saturday’s 1-0 overtime victory at Beloit College. Haefner saved seven shots in the game to keep the Buccaneers out of the net. Haefner is 5-0-0 as a starter this season and has only surrendered three goals while making 17 saves. Haefner leads the MWC in shutouts (3) and gaols against average (0.60).
September 27
Chris Haught-Thompson-Defense-Lake Forest College
Junior - Westchester, Ohio
Haught-Thompson captained a Lake Forest defense that recorded a pair of shutouts last week. The Foresters limited visiting Benedictine University to 11 shots (4 on goal) in a 4-0 decision on Wednesday before allowing just seven shots (1 on goal) in a 3-0 blanking of host St. Norbert College on Saturday. Haught-Thompson also scored a goal against Benedictine on a penalty kick.
October 4
Adam Haefner - Goal Keeper - Ripon College
Sophomore - Mequon, Wis.
Haefner started in goal in all three games for the Red Hawks last season, helping them remain undefeated in the MWC with a trio of wins to improve their conference record to 5-0. In the three games, Haefner allowed just one goal and saved six shots, while playing all 270 minutes. That included his fourth and fifth complete game shutouts against Illinois College and Monmouth, respectively. Haefner is now 7-1 as a starter in goal this season.
October 11
Greg Fox - Goal Keeper - Grinnell College
Junior - Leawood, Kan.
Fox recorded a pair of shutouts as Grinnell posted victories of 1-0 at Monmouth College and 3-0 at Knox College over the weekend. He had five saves against Monmouth and six against Knox while improving his record to 7-4-2 on the season. He has a 1.29 goals against average this year and a .782 saves percentage.
October 18
Evan Wright - Defense - Grinnell College
Junior - St. Paul, Minn.
Wright sparked two more strong defensive efforts by the Pioneers over the weekend, including a 1-0 shutout victory over Ripon College in a battle of then-MWC unbeatens. Grinnell has surrendered just one goal in its last four outings.
October 25
Tomek Miaskowski - Goalkeeper - Carroll University
Freshman - Appleton, Wis.
Miaskowski closed out the regular season with a pair of shutouts over Beloit College (2-0) and St. Norbert College (1-0). The victories secured a spot in the MWC Tournament for the Pioneers for the fifth-consecutive season. Miaskowski recorded six saves in the victory over the Buccaneers on Wednesday then had two saves in the win over the Green Knights on Saturday.
November 1
Joe Drexler - Defense - Ripon College
Junior - Appleton, Wis.
Drexler was a key to the defensive effort in Ripon’s 2-0 victory over Lawrence University on Saturday, which clinched the 2010 MWC regular season championship for the Red Hawks and secured home field advantage in this week’s MWC Tournament. Against the Vikings, Drexler moved to inside defender for the first time in his Ripon career, helping to preserve the Red Hawk’s sixth shutout of the season, while limiting Lawrence to just three shots on goal and five overall.
