Jenny Scherer- St. Norbert College
Senior - Delavan Wis.
St. Norbert College senior Jenny Scherer reclaimed the course record and led the Green Knights to the team championship of the Tom Barry Invitational at Colburn Park. Scherer covered the 5,000-meter course in 17 minutes, 40 seconds to win by over a minute and a half. Scherer’s jaunt topped the mark set in 2009 by Carroll University’s Megan O’Grady, who ran a 17:47. St. Norbert won the team championship with a total of 28 points.
Curran Carlile - Lawrence University
Freshman - Portland, Ore.
In his first collegiate race, Carlile was a winner at the St. Norbert College Tom Barry Invitational. Carlile covered the four-mile course at Colburn Park in 20 minutes, 50.1 seconds. Led by Carlile, the Vikings tied for the team title with 66 points. Carlile’s victory was the first by a Lawrence men’s runner since Eric Davis won the Northland Baptist Bible College Invitational in 2001. The team victory also was the first since the Northland Baptist meet in 2001.

Jenny Scherer- St. Norbert College

St. Norbert College senior Jenny Scherer won her second race in as many outings in 2010 to lead the Green Knights to a second-place finish at the Northern Illinois University Huskie Open. Scherer covered the 5,000-meter course in a time of 18:09, winning the race by nearly 45 seconds. The Green Knights totaled 62 points, topping host Northern Illinois, an NCAA Division I school, by five points.
Dan Krauss - Grinnell College
Junior - Highland Park, Ill.
Krauss raced to a fourth-place finish at Grinnell College’s own Les Duke Invitational while helping the Pioneers win the team title at the event for the first time since 2003. He had a time of 26:22 over the 8-kilometer course in a race that featured 204 runners.

Emily Muhs - Lawrence University
Junior - Janesville, Wis.
Emily Muhs ran to a career-best fourth-place finish at the UW-Whitewater Invitational on Saturday. Muhs’ time of 24:17 on the tough 6,000-meter course helped Lawrence to a fourthplace finish in the team standings.
Michael Dussault - Ripon College
Senior - Antioch, Ill.
Dussault helped Ripon take second out of 16 teams at Saturday’s Concordia (Wis.) University Invitational. He finished fifth out of the 179 runners that finished the race with a career-best 8K time of 26:51.

Jenny Scherer - St. Norbert College
Senior - Delavan Wis.
Jenny Scherer remained unbeaten in three races this season winning the individual championship of the Augustana College Brissman-Lundeen Invitational at Saukie Golf Course. Scherer, who won the St. Norbert and Northern Illinois meet titles earlier this month, covered the 6,000-meter course in a time of 21:09.6 seconds Her time was 40 seconds faster than the runner up and is the fastest time in the Midwest Conference by over a minute.
Geoff Bird - Monmouth College
Senior - Kenilworth, Ill.
Monmouth College’s Geoff Bird had a record-setting day at the 26-team Brissman-Lundeen Invitational last Friday. Bird ran the fastest 8K time of any senior in the history of Monmouth College cross country with a 25:32.7. The time place him 12th in the field of 375 runners, just eight seconds out of a top 10 finish.
October 5
Kaitlin Daugherty - Carroll University
Senior - Mukwonago, Wis.
Daugherty led the Carroll University women’s cross country team at the Sean Earl Invitational, an event featuring programs from NCAA Division I, II and III. The Pioneers were 30th in the 41-team field, with Daugherty leading CU with a time of 19:35. Her time put her 133rd overall.
Kevin Meyer - Carroll University
Junior - Burlington, Ill.
Meyer finished 159th overall at the Sean Earl Invitational. The event, hosted by Loyola University, featured programs from NCAA Division I, II and III. The Pioneers finished 31st in the 41-team field. Meyer clocked a time of 26:46.

Mark Kate Beyer - Monmouth College
Senior - East Peoria, Ill.
Beyer ran one of her best times of the season at last weekend’s 24-team Dan Huston Pre-Nationals at Waverly, Iowa. Beyer placed fourth in the field of more than 300 runners to lead the Scots to a seventh-place team finish. Her 6K time of 22:38 was just 18 seconds out of second place. She was less than 45 seconds back of the winner.
Curran Carlile - Lawrence University
Freshman - Portland, Ore.
Carlile won his second individual title of the season as he raced to victory at Lawrence’s Gene Davis Invitational on Saturday. Carlile covered the 8,000-meter course in 26:22.89 to beat Carthage’s Jake Mahaffey by almost five seconds. Carlile, who also won the Tom Barry Invitational to start the season, pulled away from a pair of Carthage runners over the final 500 meters to set a course record at Reid Golf Course. Led by Carlile, the Vikings placed second in the team standings.
October 19
Rachel Bowden - Monmouth College
Sophomore - Lexington, Ill.
Monmouth’s Rachel Bowden ran a career best last week as the Fighting Scots ran away with the team title at the Illinois College Invitational. Bowden’s 6K time of 23:06 shattered her lifetime best and helped Monmouth win the 10-team meet by 56 points. The sophomore was just over 20 seconds behind the second place finisher. Her time also helped set the Scots’ record for the 1-5 and 1-7 runners pack times.
Alex DeVillers - St. Norbert College
Senior - Menomonee Falls, Wis.
St. Norbert senior Alex DeVillers finished fifth overall with a time of 26:46 at the Wisconsin Private College Championships to earn first team All State Honors. DeVillers efforts helped the Green Knights win the Team Championship in the event for the first time since 1994.
