GRINNELL, Iowa – The Midwest Conference (MWC) women’s soccer coaches have picked Lake Forest College to win its third consecutive conference title in the annual MWC Preseason Coaches’ Poll.

The Foresters racked up six first-place votes and totaled 77 points to top the conference.  St. Norbert College and Knox College are both expected to get back to the four-team MWC Tournament.  The Green Knights earned a first-place vote and garnered 72 points to finish second, while the Prairie Fire finished with three first-place tallies and 67 points.

Monmouth College first-year head coach Nick Rizzo steps into lofty expectation as the Fighting Scots finished fourth in the poll with 42 points.  The middle of the conference should be a tight race as Illinois College, Lawrence University, and Ripon College all tied for fifth with 39.

Beloit College finished eighth with 35 points, followed by Grinnell College (31) and Cornell College (9).

Eight of the 10 MWC programs open non-conference action on Thursday, September 1.
