ROCKFORD, Ill. – St. Norbert holds the lead after an abbreviated first day of the 2013 Midwest Conference Men’s Golf Championship. The Green Knights finished the round in 311 shots which was three shots better than Monmouth and 11 shots better than 2012 champion Carroll.<br />
<br />
Because of weather and loss of daylight Grinnell, Lawrence, and Ripon all were unable to finish rounds and they will conclude the first round on Saturday morning. Illinois Col. finished with a total score of 343 while Knox had 365 shots after day one of action.<br />
<br />
Of the 28 individuals who were able to get all 18 holes in both Cory Fell (Monmouth) and Blaine Lynch (Carroll) held low scores of 76. David Blake (Monmouth) and Nic Vrubley (St. Norbert) were one shot back with rounds of 77.<br />

The finals holes of the first day of action will be finished tomorrow morning which will be followed by the second round of action that is set to tee off at 9 a.m. at Aldeen Golf Club.
