BELOIT, Wis. – With wins on both the men’s and women’s side the Monmouth Fighting Scots have now swept the competition for the last nine years at the 2013 Midwest Conference (MWC) Outdoor Track and Field Championships hosted by Beloit College.
On the women’s side the Fighting Scots bested Illinois Col. by 132.5 points for the championship with a two day total of 244.50. St. Norbert finished in third with 99.5 points while Carroll was in fourth with 87 points. Ripon finished with 60 points in fifth place while Grinnell was only one point back in sixth with 59 points. Lawrence (39 points) was only one point better than Cornell (38) and three points better than Beloit (36) for spots seven through nine with Knox (four points) rounding out the field.
Monmouth men took 201 points which was 69 more than runner-up St. Norbert (132). Grinnell earned 80 points for a third place finish while Carroll was a distant fourth with 76 points. Ripon was only four points back of Carroll with 72 points while Illinois Col. earned 60 points for a sixth place finish. Lawrence (54), Cornell (47), Knox (38), and Beloit (20) rounds out the men’s field.
Overall 27 individual awards were given out on the final day of action with the following champions being crowned:
