OFFENSIVE
The 31st game of St. George’s career featured his first and second collegiate goals, as the senior forward led Monmouth to a 3-2 win over Cornell in the team’s season opener. St. George tallied the game’s first goal seven minutes into the contest, before breaking a 2-2 tie in the final minute of the match when he netted the game-winner. Both of his goals were first-touch finishes.

DEFENSIVE
Horton stopped 13 shots in Saturday’s road contest against Benedictine, helping the Blueboys secure a 1-1 tie. Benedictine got on the board in the ninth minute of the game, but Horton shut down the Eagles from that point on, allowing his teammates to tie the score 20 minutes later. The tie ended a six-match losing streak for the Blueboys that carried over from last season.

Nick Bonifas - Forward - St. Norbert College
Senior - Stevens Point, Wis.
Bonifas scored a pair of goals last week to help St. Norbert to a 3-0 start on the season. Bonifas scored the Green Knights’ lone marker in a 1-0 win over regionally ranked Edgewood on Wednesday, before adding another goal in a 2-1 win over Olivet on Saturday. The Green Knights also beat Fontbonne 2-1 in double overtime on Sunday to capture the championship of the UW-Oshkosh Valley Cup.

Chris Carlson - Defender - Lawrence University
Sophomore - Cedarburg, Wis./Cedarburg
Carlson was the stopper in the middle of the Lawrence defense during last weekend’s Luther College Invitational. The sophomore defender helped the Vikings to a 2-0 record and the tournament title, as the Vikings posted a pair of shutout victories. During back-to-back 2-0 victories over Luther and St. Scholastica, respectively, the Vikings defense limited both opponents to six shots apiece and only allowed five shots on goal combined in the two matches. Carlson’s unit has not allowed a goal in three games this season.

Attila Schmidt - Midfielder - Lake Forest College
Junior - Akron, Ohio/Western Reserve Academy
Schmidt led Lake Forest to a pair of Midwest Conference victories last week, helping the Foresters remain unbeaten (4-0) on the season. Schmidt recorded assists on both of his teams goals in Wednesday’s 2-1 come-from-behind victory over Ripon. The junior midfielder netted his third and fourth goals of the season against Knox on Saturday, as Lake Forest downed Knox 6-0. Schmidt leads his squad with four goals, three assists, and 11 points in four games this season. |

Chip Schumacher - Goalkeeper - Beloit College
Senior - Madison, Wis./West
Schumacher allowed zero goals in two games last week, guiding the Bucs to a 2-0 start in Midwest Conference play and retaining an unbeaten record on the season. Schumacher combined to make three saves during a pair of 4-0 victories over MWC foes Ripon and Lawrence. The senior goalkeeper earned the 15th shutout of his career against the Vikings, putting him two shy of tying Beloit’s career shutout record. |

Andrew Walsh - Forward - Grinnell College

Walsh scored a pair of game-winning goals last week, helping the Pioneers to a 2-0 start in MWC play. Walsh started his week by netting the lone goal in Grinnell’s 1-0 triumph at Monmouth on Wednesday. The sophomore forward was even better on Saturday against previously unbeaten Beloit, as he assisted Milan Popovic’s goal early in the game, before putting the game-winner in the back of the net in the 48th minute. Walsh is tied for second in the MWC with four goals this season. |

Sam Lancaster - Goalkeeper - Grinnell College

Lancaster allowed one goal in a pair of Grinnell victories last week, guiding the Pioneers to a 2-0 mark in conference play. Lancaster stopped all four shots he faced in a 1-0 shutout victory over Monmouth on Wednesday and added six more saves in a 2-1 win over previously unbeaten Beloit on Saturday. Grinnell’s unbeaten streak is now at six consecutive games, which include a pair of Lancaster shutouts.

Findley registered five points in a pair of MWC victories for the Bucs last week, as Beloit secured second place in the conference. Findley scored twice in the Bucs 3-1 road victory over St. Norbert on Saturday, as Beloit ended the Green Knights 28-match unbeaten streak against conference foes. Findley also assisted one of Chas Fricke’s two goals against Carroll on Wednesday, as Beloit rallied to edge the Pioneers 2-1 in double overtime. Findley currently ranks second and third, respectively, in the league in goals (6) and points (13). |

Lancaster wins Defensive Performer of the Week honors for the second week in a row after recording shutouts against a pair of MWC foes. The junior goalkeeper combined to make five saves in the two contests, as Grinnell downed Illinois College and Knox by identical 2-0 scores. Lancaster has allowed one goal in four conference matches this season, helping the Pioneers to a first-place standing and a 4-0 record in MWC play. |

Bonifas posted big numbers while leading St. Norbert to a 3-0 record against MWC opponents last week. Bonifas tallied six goals and three assists for 15 points as the Green Knights beat Ripon 5-0, Illinois College 8-0 and Monmouth 4-0. The senior forward recorded a hat trick against Ripon and netted a pair of goals against Monmouth. Bonifas now has a team-high 10 goals and three assists for 23 points on the year.

St. Clair led St. Norbert to three shutouts in conference action last week, as the Green Knights downed Ripon (5-0), Illinois College (8-0) and Monmouth (4-0). The junior defender netted a goal and an assist in the win over Illinois College and tallied another assist against Monmouth. St. Norbert outshot its opponents 82-21 in the three games.

Bonifas is the Offensive Performer of the Week for the second time in as many weeks after leading St. Norbert to a pair of big wins last week. Bonifas started his week by scoring St. Norbert’s first goal and the eventual game winner in Friday’s 2-0 win over MWC foe Carroll. The senior forward then netted the equalizer in Sunday’s 2-1 win over regionally ranked UW-Whitewater, as he tied the game at 1-1 with a goal at the 13-minute mark. Bonifas has five game-winning goals this year. |

Prouty’s aggressive play helped the Pioneers limit Lake Forest to four shots on goal Saturday, as Grinnell earned a 0-0 tie with the Foresters to maintain a share of first-place in the conference.
With Prouty anchoring their defense, the Pioneers have only allowed two goals in their last five contests, while extending their overall unbeaten streak to 11 straight games.

Fricke led the Bucs to a 3-0 record last week, clinching the school’s first MWC Championship since 1974 in the process. The senior midfielder recorded three goals and two assists, including a pair of game-winning goals as Beloit topped Augustana (3-2), Illinois College (4-0) and Monmouth (1-0). Fricke netted the game-winner against Augustana to cap a three-goal rally and assisted the lone goal in the title-clinching win over Monmouth. |

Enck helped keep the Foresters conference tourney hopes alive over the weekend, as Lake Forest posted a win and tie in league play. The junior sweeper scored the Foresters lone goal on a penalty kick in a 1-1 tie with Monmouth on Saturday and then helped limit Illinois College to a single shot on goal in Lake Forest’s 3-0 victory over the Blueboys on Sunday.

Findley became Beloit’s all-time career leader in goals scored and points in a pair of matches last week. Findley started his week by netting the Bucs lone goal in a 2-1 loss to Benedictine on Thursday. The senior forward then tallied two goals, including the game-winner in overtime, as Beloit triumphed over MSOE 3-2 on Saturday. Findley has 39 goals and 94 career points in his career.

Lancaster recorded shutouts against five MWC opponents this season and is a major reason Grinnell has qualified for the MWC Tournament for the first time since 2000. |
