Week #1 : September 8

Ryan Kennedy
Illinois C.
Kennedy, a first-year forward from Belleville, Ill., scored three goals and recorded an assist in the first two matches of his collegiate career. Kennedy currently leads the Blueboys in goals scored and in points with seven.

Tom Murphy
Lawrence
Murphy, a senior goalkeeper from Delavan, Wis., (Delavan-Darian HS) registered 15 saves in the 1-0 loss to Carleton. Murphy now ranks fourth on Lawrence’s career saves list.

Week #2 : September 15

Adam Miner
Lawrence
Miner, a sophomore forward from Madison, Wis., (West HS) recorded his first career multi-goal game in a 3-0 win over defending MWC Champion Lake Forest. Miner’s first goal put Lawrence up 1-0 just 13 minutes into the match while his second came with minutes remaining to seal the victory. The two goals were Miner’s first of the season.

Tom Murphy
Lawrence
Murphy, a senior goalkeeper from Delavan, Wis., (Delavan-Darian HS) registered 13 saves in the 3-0 victory over Lake Forest including several diving stops. Winner of the first two MWC Defensive Player of the Week awards, Murphy improved his save percentage to .966 and his goals against average to .50 following the shutout.

Week #3 : September 22

Mike Flanagan
Beloit

Flanagan, a senior forward from Madison, Wis., (East HS) scored a pair of goals as the Bucs defeated Grinnell 2-0 in a key MWC matchup Saturday. Flanagan now has five goals and one assist for Beloit this year and is the team’s leading scorer.


Yuri Petrasz
St. Norbert
Petrasz, a sophomore goalkeeper from Chicago, Ill, (Fenwick HS) sparked the Green Knights to victories over defending MWC Champion Lake Forest, 2-1, and non-conference opponent Wisconsin Lutheran, 3-0. Petrasz recorded fives saves against the Foresters and defended very well against the Foresters’ corner kicks.

Week #4 : September 29

Sandile Nekuna
Beloit

Nukuna, a first-year forward from Cape Town, South Africa, scored a goal in each of Beloit’s victories last week. The Bucs scored a conference win over Ripon and a non-conference victory over Rockford. Nukuna registered four shots and the goal against Ripon and two shots and the goal against Rockford.


Adam Johnson
Beloit
Johnson, a sophomore defender from Sioux Falls, South Dakota, played a pivotal role in Beloit’s wins over Ripon and Rockford last week. Johnson marked Ripon’s top player leading to a shutout of the Red Hawks and led a group effort defensively against Rockford in allowing only six shots on goal.

Joe Snyder
Carroll

Snyder, a senior forward from Waukesha, Wis., (West HS) led Carroll to three consecutive conference road wins last week. Snyder netted two goals in Carroll’s thrilling overtime win at Monmouth and scored the decisive first goal in the win over Illinois C.


David Whitcomb
Grinnell
Whitcomb, a senior goalkeeper from Elm Grove, Wis., registered 16 saves in two critical MWC games including ten stops in an overtime victory against league leader St. Norbert. Whitcomb followed that effort with six saves against Lawrence.

Week #6 : October 13

Lake Forest


Teisl, a junior midfielder from Chardon, Ohio, (Gilmour Academy) scored a goal and assisted on another in a win over Grinnell and scored the first goal of the game in a loss to Beloit.


Josh Perlberg
Beloit

Perlberg, a senior goalkeeper from Rhinelander, Wis., (Rhinelander HS) stopped four shots in a road-win at Knox and recorded four more saves in a hard-fought win at Lake Forest. Through ten games this season Perlberg has a 1.37 goals against average.

Week #7 : October 20

Caleb Chase
Lake Forest

 

Chase, a junior forward from Hanover, New Hampshire, (Vermont Academy) led Lake Forest to a pair of conference victories over the weekend. In a win over Monmouth Chase assisted on the Forester’s first goal and scored the other two. Against Illinois C. the junior forward added another assist.



Phil Schwab
Lake Forest

Schwab, a junior defender from St. Louis, Mo., (Christian Brothers HS) played a major role in his team’s two conference wins this past weekend. Against Monmouth, Schwab led a LFC defense that limited the Scots to just ten shots, eight below their season average while shutting out Illinois C. and holding the Blueboys to just four shots.

Week #8 : October 27

Michael Wheeler
Carroll

 

Wheeler, a first-year forward from Antioch, Ill., (Community HS) assisted on both of his team’s goals, including the overtime game-winner, in a 2-1 triumph over Knox. On Sunday in a win against Grinnell, Wheeler scored the game-winner with just over seven minutes remaining to help his team clinch a berth in the MWC Tournament.



Mark Allen
Monmouth

Allen, a junior sweeper from Milan, Ill., (Sherrard HS) scored a big goal for the Scots in an overtime win at Lawrence to keep his team’s hopes alive for a spot in the MWC Tournament. This was Allen’s second game-winner of the season.

Week #9 : November 3

Brian Pinkley Monmouth

Pinkley, a first-year forward from Crystal Lake, Ill., (Prairie Ridge HS) came off the bench with ten minutes remaining in the first half against rival Knox and broke a 1-1 tie with his first goal of the game. In the second half Pinkley was inserted again and after just six minutes on the field helped put the game away with his second score of the day off a rebound.



Fabian Calderon
Monmouth

Calderon, a junior defender from Bridgeview, Ill., (Argo HS), shutdown a number of Knox breakaways in a 4-1 victory over the Prairie Fire. Calderon also made several runs offensively down the flank to help spread the Knox defense out, ultimately helping his Fighting Scots on both ends outshoot their opponent 33-9.
