Grinnell, Iowa – Grinnell College’s JP Prouty ’10 was named to the first team of the 2009 National Soccer Coaches Association of America Scholar All-North/Central Region Men’s Soccer Team, while teammate Alex Exarhos ’10 was a second-team selection.
Prouty, a defender from Stilwell, Kan., is a biological chemistry major and Exarhos, a defender from Richland, Wash., is majoring in computer science. Prouty is a three-time All-Region selection, twice before earning third-team honors, while Exarhos was a third-teamer last year. Both again helped the Pioneers earn the Team Academic Award from the NSCAA.
Prouty and Exarhos, who are also multiple All-Midwest Conference selections, helped anchor a Pioneer defense that gave up a measly 1.43 goals a game. Both also ranked second on the team in assists with three, while Prouty was third in goals with five. Exarhos had one goal.

Grinnell, Iowa – Grinnell College was one of 99 institutions to have both its men’s and women’s soccer programs earn the Team Academic Award from the National Soccer Coaches Association of America.
A total of 576 teams earned the award, 333 women’s squads and 143 on the men’s side.
Squads must have a team grade point average of 3.0 or higher to be honored.
The Grinnell women are coached by Heather Benning and the men by Brian Jaworski. |

Waukesha, Wis. - Carroll University's Andy Prentice and Craig Carlson, Beloit College's Bo Wilkins, and Grinnell College's JP Prouty have been named to the National Soccer Coaches Association of America NCAA Division III All-North Region Team, NSCAA officials announced today.
Senior forward Andy Prentice was named to the first-team while senior midfielder Bo Wilkins earned second-team recognition and senior midfielder Craig Carlson and senior defender JP Prouty were third-team selections.
Prentice tallied 17 goals and six assists for 40 points (most-ever points in a single-season) in 2009 and early in the season became Carroll's all-time leader in goals and points with 47 career goals and 111 career points.
Wilkins finished his outstanding career with a league-high nine assists. He had four goals and helped the Bucs qualify and advance to the championship game in the MWC Tournament.
Carlson played more of a defensive role in the central midfield in 2009 but still finished second on the team in scoring with nine goals and four assists for 22 points. He finished his career in fourth-place on the all-time points list (70).
Prouty helped anchor a defense that helped Grinnell qualify for their first NCAA Division III Men’s Soccer Tournament in school history. He earned first team All-MWC recgnition, his third such honor.

Waukesha, Wis. - Carroll University's Stanislaw Miaskowski has been named to the 2009 ESPN The Magazine Academic All-America® Men’s Soccer Team, as selected by the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA).
Miaskowski, a senior goalkeeper from Appleton, Wis. (Xavier High School), led the Pioneers to a 14-1-4 season that included the team's first-ever national ranking (ranked No. 12 in the latest National Soccer Coaches Association of America poll).
Miaskowski earned first-team All-Midwest Conference honors this season while surrendering just 13 goals on the year, including just two goals in Midwest Conference regular-season play.
To be eligible for the national team, a student athlete must have been selected to its District’s first team. Initial nomination criteria at the District level includes being a varsity starter or key reserve, maintaining a cumulative grade point average of 3.30 on a scale of 4.00, reaching sophomore athletic and academic standing at his current institution and be nominated by their sports information director.
Since the program's inception in 1952, COSIDA has bestowed Academic All America honors on more than 14,000 student athletes in Divisions I, II, III and NAIA, covering all NCAA championship sports.

Ripon, Wis.-- The Midwest Conference (MWC) announced the 2009 MWC Men’s Soccer Awards today, November 18, 2009.
Carroll University’s senior forward Andy Prentice and junior defender Justin Ziegler highlight the list of 34 all-conference honorees after being selected as the 2009 Offensive Player of the Year and the 2009 Defensive Player of the Year, respectively.
After leading his team to a runner up finish in league standings, a MWC Tournament title and his program’s first-ever NCAA Tournament berth, Pioneers’ head coach Brian Jaworski (Pictured) was named the 2009 Coach of the Year.

The Grinnell College men's soccer team will play Macalester College in the opening round of the NCAA Division III National Tournament Saturday in Dubuque.
Grinnell, 9-7-4 and making its first-ever trip to the NCAA Tourney, has already played 12-7-1 Macalester this season. The Scots, the MIAC champs, posted a 3-2 victory Sept. 26 in Grinnell.
Grinnell earned an automatic berth into the NCAA Tournament after winning the Midwest Conference Championships on Saturday with a shootout victory over Beloit College. The dramatic win came after Grinnell fell behind 2-0 in the first six-plus minutes of the game before Mark Rosenberg '11 scored twice to force overtime and the subsequent shootout, which the Pioneers won 3-2.
Grinnell had advanced to the MWC title clash after beating regionally-ranked St. Norbert College in a shootout a day earlier.

Waukesha, Wis. -- For the second time in as many days Grinnell and Beloit played to a 2-2 double overtime draw forcing a shootout.
The Grinnell College men's soccer team made history Saturday by qualifying for its first NCAA Division III National Tournament with a shootout victory over Beloit College in the Midwest Conference Tournament Title game.
Grinnell won with a 2-1 advantage in penalty kicks to take home the tournament title and will advance to the NCAA Tournament with the MWC's automatic bid. |

Waukesha, Wis. -- The 2009 Midwest Conference (MWC) Men's Soccer Tournament began today with back-to-back shootout games in the semifinals.
The Beloit Buccaneers upset the Carroll University Pioneers in the first semifinal. No. 1 Carroll tied No. 4 Beloit 1-1 in double overtime, but the Bucs advance on to the finals with a 5-3 edge in the shootout. No. 2 Grinnell and No. 3 St. Norbert played to a scoreless draw in double overtime with the Pioneers advancing on to the finals after topping the Green Knights 7-6 in the shootout.
Beloit (5-2-2 MWC, 10-3-5 Overall) will now play Grinnell (6-1-2 MWC, 9-7-2 Overall) for the MWC Tournament title. Game time is set for 4:00 p.m. on Saturday. In their last meeting, the two teams played to a 2-2 double overtime draw. The game will be web cast on www.midwestconference.tv
The winner of the 2009 MWC Tournament Championship earns the MWC's automatic bid to the NCAA Tournament.

Ripon, Wis. -- Carroll University, Grinnell College, St. Norbert College and Beloit College have all earned a trip to the 2009 Midwest Conference men’s soccer tournament and will compete for the league’s automatic berth to the 2009 NCAA Tournament this weekend.
Carroll and Beloit College meet in the first semifinal contest at 10 a.m. on Friday, with Grinnell and St. Norbert to follow at 1 p.m. Saturday’s tournament title match will begin at 4 p.m.

Waukesha, Wis. - The Carroll University men's soccer team ended the 2009 regular season ranked No. 13 in the country in the National Soccer Coaches Association of America top 25 poll.
The Pioneers, once again ranked No. 2 in the North region, entered the top 25 at No. 22 two weeks and climbed to No. 15 and No. 13 in successive weeks.
Carroll ended the regular season 14-1-3 on the season and earned its second straight Midwest Conference Championship.
The Pioneers host the four-team Midwest Conference Tournament on Nov. 6-7 and are seeking their third consecutive trip to the NCAA Tournament. |

Ripon, Wis. -- Three Midwest Conference (MWC) men's soccer student-athletes have been named to the 2009 ESPN The Magazine Academic All-District V Team, as selected by the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA).
Carroll University senior goalkeeper Stanislaw Miaskowski represented the MWC on the eleven-player Academic All-District First Team.
Illinois College senior defender Chris Schulte and Lawrence University senior defender T.J. Frett were both second team Academic All-District selections.
The ESPN The Magazine Academic All-District team is part of the ESPN The Magazine Academic All-America program, administered by the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA) a 2,000-member organization consisting of sports public relations professionals for colleges and universities in the United States and Canada. The Academic All-America program annually honors over 1600 student-athletes who have succeeded at the highest level on the playing field and in the classroom.
Top student-athletes from non-Division I programs in Minnesota, Wisconsin, Illinois, Indiana, Ontario and Manitoba are eligible for inclusion on the district team. To be eligible, a student-athlete must be a varsity starter or key reserve, maintain a cumulative grade point average of 3.20 on a scale of 4.00, have reached sophomore athletic and academic standings at his current institution and be nominated by his sports information director.
First-team Academic All-District members advance to the Academic All-America ballot, voted on by a committee of CoSIDA members. The ESPN The Magazine Academic All-America men's soccer team will be announced on Wednesday, November 18. |

Waukesha, Wis. - Following its Midwest Conference Championship-clinching victory over Beloit College on Wednesday night and its 2-1 win over nationally ranked UW-Oshkosh on Saturday afternoon, the Carroll University men's soccer team has moved up to No. 15 in this week's National Soccer Coaches Association of America Top 25 poll. The Pioneers earned their first-ever national ranking last week at No. 22 in the NSCAA poll.

Rick Mobley and the Carroll University men's soccer team captured its second consecutive Midwest Conference Championship and second title in program history with a 3-1 victory over Beloit College on October 21.
No. 22 Carroll owns an 8-0-0 mark against MWC adversaries this season and could finish undefeated with a triumph over St. Norbert on October 31.
As MWC Champions, the Pioneers will play host to the 2009 Midwest Conference Men's Soccer Tournament on November 6-7. The tournament winner receives the MWC's Automatic Qualification to the NCAA Division III National Tournament. |

Waukesha, Wis. -- Carroll University head men's soccer coach Rick Mobley has hit the 100 win mark for his career. The milestone victory came in a 3-0 shutout victory over Lawrence University in Appleton, Wisconsin on October 3.
In now eleven seasons as head men's soccer coach, Mobley's teams have compiled an overall record of 100-68-16 overall, including a 58-29-5 mark in Midwest Conference play. His Carroll teams have qualified for the conference tournament in six-of-ten seasons (2001, 2002, 2004, 2006, 2007, 2008) and twice finished the regular season tied for the best record in the league.
Mobley's best season came last year when the men's soccer program won their first-ever Midwest Conference Championship in 2008 after finishing the season with a perfect 9-0 record. The 2008 team then went on to win the league's post season tournament and later advanced to the second round of the NCAA Tournament. The Pioneers qualified for the NCAA Tournament in 2007 and 2008 after winning the MWC Tournament and earning the league's automatic berth.
The Swansboro, North Carolina native has been involved in soccer either as a player or coach most of his life. Prior to Carroll, Mobley started his playing career where he suited up for Campbell University. He was a four year starter on the NCAA Division 1 squad and was a three year All-Big South Conference selection. After his college days Mobley played nine seasons of professional soccer - seven seasons of indoor soccer with the Milwaukee Wave and two seasons of outdoor soccer with the Charlotte Eagles. |

Waukesha, Wis. -- The Carroll University men's soccer program, in its 18th year of existence, has a new scoring king.
In a 4-0 win over Millikin University on Sunday, Sept. 6 in the Clash of the Titans Tournament hosted by Illinois Wesleyan University, Andy Prentice became Carroll's all-time leader in career points and goals.
Prentice, a 6-3 senior striker from Appleton, Wis. (Appleton West High School), set Carroll's career record in points and goals with his tally in the 55th minute versus Millikin.

RIPON, WIS. -- The 2009 Midwest Confe rence coaches have spoken, choosing Carroll University to repeat as MWC champions this season.
Only one point separated Carroll from St. Norbert in the 2009 Preseason Coaches Poll. Carroll received six of the ten first-place votes, with the remaining four going to second place St. Norbert. Grinnell was an outright third place selection in this year’s poll followed by Lawrence in fourth.
Beloit finished fifth in the poll ahead of first-year head coach Chris Bergmann’s Lake Forest squad. However, the Buccaneers and Foresters were only separated by five points. Illinois College finished as a clear cut seventh, while Monmouth and new head coach Lance Gordon’s Ripon Red Hawks were seperated by one point as they finished eighth and ninth, respectively, in the poll followed by Knox in tenth.

Jacksonville, Ill.- Jacksonville native Corey Suter has been named assistant coach of the Illinois College men’s soccer team.
Head Coach Shane Taylor said Suter will begin his new duties when the Blueboys open pre-season practice August 21. Suter is a Jacksonville High School graduate who competed in soccer for two seasons at Lincoln Land Community College before a back injury sidelined his intercollegiate career. |
