Monmouth knocks off Knox after second
day is rained out
Monmouth shot a opening day 327 to lead
the field after day one before day two was rained out giving the Fighting
Scots the 2002 Championship. In the process Monmouth ousted eight-time
defending champion Knox.
Grinnell's Jared Baszler and Lawrence's
Jeff Henderson captured top individual medalist honors. Baszler carded
his six-over 78 on the shoulders of a hole-in-one on the par-3 eighth
hole at Aldeen Country Club in Rockford, Ill.

Lawrence holds on for North Division
Title
The Lawrence Vikings held off a final round
charge by St. Norbert to claim the 2002 North Division title this past
weekend. The Vikings scored a five-round total of 1626 to edge St. Norbert
in second with 1643. Ripon clung to a small lead over Carroll during
the final round of play to finish third while Beloit rounded out the
field in fifth. Lawrence's Jeff Henderson edged St. Norbert's Kevin
Hillman for the individual title.

Knox claims 7th-straight South Division
crown
Knox overcame a five-stroke deficit by
Monmouth on day one of the three-day South Division Invitational to
capture the 2002 South Division Championship. The Prairie Fire's 929
bested Monmouth's 942, Grinnell's 954 and Illinois C.'s 1015. Illinois
C. did claim the individual medalist position though with Wes Prather's
54 hole mark of 222.
