Week 1: April 3, 2007
Kyle Williams - Illinois College
Freshman - Godfrey, Ill./Alton

Williams opened his week by tying for fourth place individually at the Webster Gorlock Invite. The freshman opened the 36-hole event with a 72, the top 18-hole round in the MWC this season, and finished with a two-day score of 154. Williams carded an 83 at Monday’s Illinois College McNaughton Invite, good for a top 20 finish and the second-best score among Blueboy golfers.

 
Week 2: April 10, 2007
Ryan Meier - Knox College
Senior - Normal, Ill./University High

Meier finished second individually at last weekend’s Scot-Fire Invitational, which featured over 80 golfers and eight league schools. Meier opened the tournament by firing a 73, the second-best 18-hole total in the MWC this season, and carded a 78 on day two for a 36-hole total of 151. The senior finished four strokes behind the tourney champ and helped the Prairie Fire to a fifth-place team finish.
 
Week 3: April 17, 2007
Justin Martin - Monmouth College
Senior - Monmouth, Ill./Warren

Martin shot a collegiate-best round of 72 to tie for fifth out of 116 golfers at Millikin’s Big Blue Classic on Friday. Martin also played 36 holes last Monday in Springfield, carding rounds of 75 and 80 as the Fighting Scots placed fifth out of 13 full teams at an event hosted by Springfield College. His scoring average for the week was 75.7. His round of 72 tied Illinois College’s Kyle Williams as the top 18-hole score in the MWC this season.

 
Week 4: April 24, 2007

David Marquardt - Knox College
Junior - Bloomington, Ill./Bloomington

Marquardt won the Carroll Invitational Sunday with a one-under-par 71 at The Broadlands in North Prairie, Wisconsin. The junior’s performance helped the Prairie Fire to a third-place team finish at the event. Earlier in the week, Marquardt carded a 159 (78-81) at the two-day Community 1st Credit Union Collegiate Golf Tournament in Ottumwa, Iowa. Knox finished fifth as a team at the event. Marquardt’s score of 71 is the top 18-hole round in the MWC this season.

 
Week 5: May 1, 2007

John Hecker - Carroll College
Senior - Pewaukee, Wis./Pewaukee

Hecker had a solid week for the Pioneers, averaging a score of 76 over the course of four tournaments last week. Hecker tied for third individually at Carthage with a season-best 18-hole round of 73. The senior followed that performance with rounds of 79 and 77 to finish tied for tenth and fifth at the Lawrence and St. Norbert Invitationals, respectively. As a team, Carroll finished third at Carthage, third at Lawrence and second at St. Norbert. Hecker’s score of 73 ranks as the third-best in the league this season.
