Foster opened the 2006 season with a strong performance at the Loras Duhawk Spring Invitational, earning himself Top 5 individual honors, while leading Knox to a Top 5 team finish as well. The senior carded a one-day 18-hole total of 73 to finish in a tie for fifth-place. Knox took sole possession of fifth-place in team competition, as the Prairie Fire topped fellow MWC schools Monmouth and Illinois College in the process.

The senior followed that performance with a 3-under par 67 on Saturday at Waverly Country Club for a 36-hole total of 147. Loehnis’ 67 tied the low round of the tournament, which was shared by Luther’s Ben Hanson, who won the tourney by four shots.

Week 3: April 18, 2006
Jeff Denny - Monmouth College - Junior - Atlanta, Ill./Olympia
Denny built on a pair of solid outings two weeks ago by continuing to play well last week, as the junior posted a one-over-par 72 on the Gibson Woods Golf Course at Saturday’s Monmouth Invitational. Denny’s score earned him second-place honors individually and helped the Fighting Scots card a season-low team score of 299. Monmouth finished second as a team at the event, besting fellow MWC schools Knox, Grinnell and Beloit.

Week 4: April 25, 2006

Loehnis shot an even-par 72 at the Broadlands Golf Club on Sunday to finish second at the Carroll Invitational. Lawrence took third in the 11-team event.
