Performers of the Week

Week 1: March 31, 2003

Chad Scott
Monmouth

Scott, a Junior from Pontiac, Illinois, was a medalist at the 36-hole Prairie Fire Classic last weekend in Galesburg. In less than ideal playing conditions, he carded a one-under 71 on Friday at Soangetaha Country Club and followed that up with a 76 on Saturday to win the event, which included golfers from 10 teams.

Week 2: April 7, 2003

Mack Foster
Knox

Foster, a first-year competitor from Oneida, Ill., (R.O.W.V.A High School) shot a 76 and 77 for a two-day total of 153 in the Augustana Invitational to finish 25th in the field.

Week 3: April 14, 2003


Jeff Henderson
Lawrence

Henderson, a sophomore from Reedsburg, Wis., shot a one over 73 at the Midwest Conference North Division Championships first round on Sunday at Western Lakes Golf Club in Pewaukee, Wis. He currently leads the field by three strokes. Led by Henderson's performance, Lawrence holds a 28 shot advantage after the first round of play.

Week 4: April 21, 2003


Matt Hawkins
Monmouth

Hawkins, a sophomore from Olympia, Ill. (Olymipia HS), topped all the golfers in a 10-team field at the Monmouth College Invitational on Saturday, firing an even-par 71.

Week 5: April 28, 2003


Reggie Bowman
Knox

Bowman, a junior from Dahinda, Ill. (Williamsfield HS), shot a 77 on day one and a 78 on day two for a two-day total of 155 to win medalist honors in the Midwest Conference South Division tournament. The junior’s efforts helped Knox to its eighth straight South Division crown. Bowman has finished fourth, sixth, and first over the past three South Division tournaments.

Week 6: May 5, 2003


Andy Link
Lawrence

Link, a first-year performer from Rochester, Minn. (Century HS), carded a one-over par 73 on the Links Course at Lawsonia to lead Lawrence to a win in the fourth round of the North Division Tournament. Link took medalist honors and Lawrence carded a team score of 298, which tied for the Vikings second-lowest round of the year.
