SNC's Frelich receives honor

St. Norbert College senior shortstop Mike Frelich has been named to the GTE/College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA) College Division Academic All-District V Baseball first team.

Frelich, a Green Bay native and a graduate of Green Bay East High School, carries a 3.542 grade point average with a major in business administration.

Frelich, a tri-captain for St. Norbert, is batting .393 (35-89) entering this weekend's Midwest Conference Tournament. He has hit seven doubles and one home run with 19 runs batted in, and has scored 29 runs. He is also 3-3 as a pitcher.

"Mike has been a leader for us in the classroom and on the field in the two seasons he has played at St. Norbert," said St. Norbert coach Tom Winske, who also coached Frelich at East High School. "His hard work throughout his career has paid off for him and will continue to benefit him in the future."

Frelich is the only player from Wisconsin to be named to either the first or second All-District team.
