  MWC Cites 237 Students for Academic Achievement

The Midwest Conference named 237 student-athletes competing in six winter sports to its 2004-05 Academic All-Conference Team. A minimum cumulative grade point of 3.2 and a varsity letter was required for consideration.

Grinnell led the list of ten schools with 53 selections. Beloit collected 36 citations in second. Lawrence was third with 26 with St. Norbert close behind with 25 honorees while Ripon followed with 24. Illinois C. was sixth with 20 selections and Knox had 16. Lake Forest, Carroll and Monmouth completed the list with 14, 13 and 10 respectively.

Women’s Indoor Track and Field topped the group of Winter sports with 60 selections. Men’s Indoor Track and Field finished with 46 honorees with Women’s Swimming following close behind at 45. Women’s Basketball had 39 while Men’s Swimming finished with 26 selections. Men’s Basketball rounded out the list with 21 citations.

MWC Cites 375 Students for Academic Achievement

The Midwest Conference named 375 student-athletes competing in eight fall sports to its 2004 Academic All-Conference Team. A minimum cumulative grade point of 3.2 and a varsity letter earned was required for consideration.

Grinnell led the list of ten schools with 62 selections. Beloit followed with 54 and then St. Norbert with 53. Ripon finished with 41 and Lawrence had 33 citations. Illinois C. was two behind with 31. Monmouth and Knox tied with 27 honorees, while Carroll and Lake Forest rounded out the list with 25, and 22 respectively.

Women’s soccer topped all fall sports with 75 selections. Football finished with 64 selections while women’s cross country had 57 honorees. Men’s soccer had 49, volleyball had 41, and men’s cross contry had 39. Women’s tennis finished with 35 honorees and women’s golf had 15.
