Cites 355 Students for Academic Achievement
The Midwest Conference named 355 student-athletes competing in eight Fall
sports to its 2003 Academic All-Conference Team. A minimum cumulative grade
point of 3.2 was required for consideration.
Grinnell led the list of ten schools with 59 selections. St. Norbert followed
with 47 and then Beloit with 38. Knox and Lawrence both had 36 citations
while Illinois C. was one behind with 35. Carroll had 33 honorees, while
Ripon, Monmouth and Lake Forest rounded out the list with 25, 24, and 22
respectively.
Football topped the list of Fall sports with 82 selections. Women’s
Soccer finished with 56 selections while Women’s Cross Country had
50 honorees. Volleyball had 46, Men’s Soccer had 44, and Men’s
Cross Country had 35. Women’s Tennis finished with 29 honorees and
Women’s Golf had 13.
