MWC cites 253 students for academic
achievement
The Midwest Conference named 253 student-athletes
competing in six spring sports to its 2002-2003 Academic All-Conference
Team. A minimum cumulative grade point of 3.2 and a varsity letter earned
was required for consideration.
St. Norbert led the list of ten
schools with 38 selections followed closely by Grinnell
with 37. Beloit finished with 29, Knox 28 and Carroll
27 to round out the top five institutions.
Ripon had 25 citations and Lawrence
claimed 24. Illinois C. and Monmouth had 22
and 17 respectively while Lake Forest, who sponsors only two
spring MWC sanctioned sports, tallied 6.
Women's Outdoor Track topped the list of
spring sports with 74 selections. Softball placed 52 honorees on the
list. Men's Outdoor Track tallied 49 and Baseball 38, while Men's Tennis
and Men's Golf had 25 and 15 respectively.
