MWC cites 216 students for academic
achievement
The Midwest Conference named 216 student-athletes
competing in six spring sports to its 2001-2002 Academic All-Conference
Team. A minimum cumulative grade point of 3.2 was required for consideration.
Grinnell led the list of ten schools
with 36 selections. Ripon followed with 29 and then Carroll
with 28, while Beloit and St. Norbert each
finished with 26 honorees.
Monmouth had 24 citations and Knox
claimed 17. Lawrence, Illinois C. and Lake Forest
had 14, 13, and 3 respectively.
Women's Outdoor Track topped the list of
spring sports with 57 selections. Softball placed 45 honorees on the
list. Men's Outdoor Track tallied 38 and Baseball 36, while Men's Golf
and Men's Tennis had 20 each.
