264 Student-Athletes Honored On Spring Academic All-Conference Team  

The Midwest Conference recognized 264 student-athletes competing in five league sports on the 2006 MWC Academic All-Conference Spring Sports Team. Student-athletes from all ten member institutions who hold a cumulative 3.2 grade point average or better and letter in any of the MWC’s spring sports (baseball, softball, men’s golf, men’s tennis, men’s outdoor track & field, women’s outdoor track & field) are eligible.

297 Student-Athletes Honored On Winter MWC Academic All-Conference Team

Grinnell placed a league-best 67 student-athletes on the 2005-06 Midwest Conference Winter Academic All-Conference Team, including high-marks in swimming (31) and indoor track & field (30). The Pioneers also led the MWC in Academic All-Conference honorees in the fall with 86. Monmouth paced the men’s basketball teams with four selections, while the Ripon women’s basketball team notched 10 Academic-All-Conference picks. Julie Johnson’s Red Hawk squad was ranked 24th among all NCAA Division III women’s basketball teams last season in total GPA.

412 Student-Athletes Honored On Fall Academic All-Conference Team

The Midwest Conference recognized 412 student-athletes competing in eight sports on the 2005 MWC Academic All-Conference Fall Sports Team. Student-athletes from all ten member institutions who hold a cumulative 3.2 grade point average and letter in any of the MWC’s fall sports (men’s cross country, women’s cross country, women’s golf, football, men’s soccer, women’s soccer, women’s tennis, volleyball) are eligible.

Grinnell placed a league-best 86 student-athletes on the team, including 41 from the Pioneers cross country program, which was another league high-mark. The 409 student-athletes selected to the MWC Academic All-Conference Team is 37 more than last year and the most since 384 fall sports student-athletes were honored during the 2002-03 school year.
