2.4.2010 | SAAC GALESBURG, Ill.-- The Student-Athlete Advisory Committees Knox College and Monmouth College co-sponsored a three-mile fun walk/run on January 30 at the Fleming Fieldhouse on the Knox campus to raise money for cancer research.
The event, Miles for Myles, brought together over 125 participants from the rival institutions to raise $450 for the cause. Participating groups included the Knox Men's and Women's Basketball teams and the Monmouth Women's Basketball team.
Miles for Myles was established following the passing of NCAA President Myles Brand from pancreatic cancer on September 16, 2009.
2009 Fall Academic All-Conference Awards Announced

RIPON, WIS. -- The Midwest Conference (MWC) has announced its 2009 Fall Academic All-Conference honorees. The conference recognized a record 457 student-athletes who represent the MWC’s ten institutions. Student-athletes must be a sophomore, junior, or senior with a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.2 and letter in any of the MWC’s fall sports to qualify for the recognition.
Weber, Calisch Named 2009 Peterson/LeClere Award Winners
12.1.2009 | MWC News Ripon, Wis. -- Carroll University senior Michelle Weber (Right) and Grinnell College senior Samuel Calisch (Left) have been named the 2009 Ruth Peterson and Roy W. LeClere Award winners, respectively.
The Peterson/LeClere Awards are presented to the Midwest Conference female and male student-athletes who posted the highest grade point averages during their junior years, while lettering in at least two league sports.
